I've been offered 2 cargo covers, differences being one is "rubberized" camo pattern and the other is canvas olive drab. Is one better than the other, which one should I go for?
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
they are a lot eaiser to put on and take off the truck too.How many holes are in both? if you dont care about "period correct", the vinyl ones are much better than the canvas as far as durability IF it is not too far gone already.
Seems a little spendy for used vinyl, the canvas cover better be in real nice shape for $200.They are both used covers, but he's charging 300 for vinyl and 200 for canvas. I dont know if thats a good deal or not.
What should the price of a used canvas and vinyl go for?Seems a little spendy for used vinyl, the canvas cover better be in real nice shape for $200.
From another thread:I just bought a canvas cover for my ride and for now it will be outside kept. Besides not leaving it on all winter is there anything I can do to protect the canvas?
I have a NOS canvas top I got from Saturn Surplus about 4-5 years ago. It stayed in the house for the first year and a half and and then sat in the garage a couple years before I put it on and put it in the weather. its been on the
the truck a little over a year and its falling apart. I would buy new if you want canvas and treat it with something quarterly to make it last. Another lesson learned the hard way. I prefer the look of canvas so I will probably do it again. I'm just going to treat it better than the last one and cover it with Jluv1185's old poly to keep the sun off. Mine was $325 at the time I bought it.
After having deuces now for almost 5 years, I would definitely recommend to anyone that they invest in a cheap aluminum carport if they do not have a garage they can keep the vehicle in. The issues of tire dry rot, cab and cargo bed cover fatigue are great enough to justify the $5-700 investment.
So wait, what is that tarp protecting? Will the soft top start to decay or something? This was my temporary solution before I got a hard top:
