10 ton near Carrollton

I drove by one the other day. Not for sale, just parked where I could see it. Does a SS member own this? I'm just curious.
I'm not being very specific describing the location on purpose.

I think it is a M123. it was a tractor.

Sorry m123a1c I mean, they have the refitted cummins diesel engine in them, not the gasser engine.

never had a mack , either had a gasser OR 300 cummins

m123 ment gasser, double winches
C model ment single winch, lower 5th whell
D model ment double winches, lower 5t wheel
A1 ment Cummins power, built with the cummins, not refitted

So a m123a1c was a cummins power, single winch, lower 5t wheel
As far as I can find there is NO m123a2c, though I may be wrong
I did find that there is a m123e2, cummins power, duel winches, low 5t wheel, warning beacon, rear facing turn signles on the rear slope of the front fender, clearance lights

BKubu chimed in long ago in another thread, the M123 (any type) is always cool to look at. Not cool to drive or maintain. He owned a M125 cargo variant, says it would kill road signs even with his left wheel on the center line.

Dads neighbor in south Ga has one that was used on the farm. The farm hands were driving it and it started knocking. I guess the knocking sound didn't translate into spanish for "FREAKING STOP!!!!!" so they kept driving until the broken rod beat a hole in the block!!!! I keep trying to buy it but he wont let it go.

The gasser in the third video was mine. I sold it to Dirt71 and bought a M816. The M123 I sold him was made in June 1956 according to the Mack factory.

Looks a lot like my M52A2 before I removed the 5th wheel and attached a shortened
cargo box.

I like the step in the middle of the bumper.

I added one by welding up some one inch square tubing, just at the point the
bumper begins to angle back.

Remember: Bigger is Better!

I like the 10 tons too, and that monster winch, WOW. After reading about them on the Van Nettas (sp?) logging website however, I'm not a huge fan of the monster transmission set up they have. I would lose the whole drivetrain and start frest with different engine w/road ranger and prolly a 5 ton t-case. The 475hp Silver 92 and 13speed overdrive Road Ranger would be a nice start...

Spicer, I would not worry about the trans.
Mack triple-counter-shaft transmission is near indestructible.
Same setup was used on my 35 ton end dump,(quarry dump ,like a Euclid) dozens of different drivers over 30 years couldn't kill it.
