Plastic Fuel line help

Ok I did the search, came up with an old posting from 2004 but the replys were blank others were cucv.

I need to buy the plastic fuel line. I have taken it to autozone and others but all they have is rubber. Correct inner size but not outer.

I watched some videos and a guy had some yellow plastic lines, I tried to pause it to read the numbers but to no luck.

What size (1/4?), where can I buy it?

Ok I am driving to home depot for the pex tubing.

I don't want to modify the system if I don't need to so the original line style is what I am looking for.

If you talking about the short lines between the injectors, I tryed that hardware tubing that looks like ice maker water line before and it stretches. After reading several SS posts I switched to plastic air brake line, I have not had a problem with that. Dont forget the ferrule and brass inserts

The pex is thicker then the clear tubing you talking about! The air brake hose works good also!

Ok. I didnt end up buying any PEX tubing, I didnt like it. For now I bought a role of the plastic water line (only for a repair if im in a pinch.) The closest place that sells the air brake line is about a half hour drive each way.

Before I make that trip I am wondering what the OEM product the military used. So far I have seen and heard of all of the modifications rather than keeping the original design.

I will look at the fix it forum recommended above.

Oh and I have all new hardware. That was easy to get. Its just the hose now.

Don't use water line plastic unless you want to start a fire.

The military used this same tubing. I had some on my truck when it came out of the service.

Anybody have source for the "plastic" fuel hose? Please help. The actual nomenclature; a source to procure it from? Did you find the source for the plastic fuel lines? I need to replace all from the fuel pump outlet to secondary filters all the way back to the hydraulic head overflow and the FDC inlet. The TM 9-2320-361-20P section ll fiqure 17 says tubing, made from tubing P/N TD2.57420 with a part number and with an SMR code and a CAGEC number. Basically indecipherable to me.
So far I have not found where to by the "plastic" hose. It has all been cut and jury riggerd and leaks.

I be ready to wok but have not the parts
I want whatever it waws they used when it was built
Was it all copper tubing in 1969 before it all got butchered?

I did mine with 1/2" copper flex tubing from menards. The main line out of the tank, anyway. It was like $10 for 10'....

If you want the stock fuel line, go to a truck repair shop.

If you want an equivalent line that is readily available and inexpensive, use dot brake line.

Why not use pex? Its resistant to diesel and oil? Its better then the clear crap the military uses! But what ever you use some on here will complain about it! Use copper they say it cracks! Use plastic it melts etc etc etc!

It's as easy as Googling the part number listed in the -24P.

And if you keep looking a little(google), you can cross refrence the number.

PEX is not designed for the temperatures under the hood, the vibrations, the abraisions,the ozone, the UV rays, bla bla bla.

Pex is just not the correct stuff to use.

The clear crap the military used is about 45 years old. How long do you expect it to last?

btw, show me a link to your 1/4 pex.

See the max temp on that? 180 F. That's the temp of the motor on a cool day.Go point your IR gun at some componanent under your hood, after a good hard drive. Then replax your house water line with something that is safe and proven.

Are running garden hose on your water heater?
