Need a favor from a M923A2 owner with a micrometer.

I need the telescoping arm of the spare tire carrier boom mic'd, just the outside diameter. Mine didn't come with it, I bought the arm from a M931 and it's slightly too big of a diameter to fit in the boom on my M923A2...I would've thought they would all be the same, silly me.. I'm going to have it turned down somewhere, but not sure how much difference between the boom inside diameter and outside diameter of the telescoping part there should be.

You are talking about the diameter at the base right? Its the same from the base to the top in any case.

IT,s to bad your not closer i would just tell you to bring it over, we could chuck it in my lathe and machine it to fit. Or if that didn't work i could just fab you a new one out of pipe in my machine shop.

You are talking about the diameter at the base right? Its the same from the base to the top in any case.

No, talking about the extension part with the stop on the end for the trolley. It slides into the boom and is pinned to hold it there either retracted or extended to bring the tire out to the side of the truck.

That would be 2.46 inches correct? Perfect. I was going to have it turned to 2.45! Thanks a bunch.
Thank you all gentlemen for the replies. I'm really surprised the A1 and A2 aren't the same as the others. Hopefully it will hold up turned down another .050 or so.
