Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
I did not see how they got it out but a friend told me they winched it out with another MV.Should have purchased a goat!...or..an OT64,. How did they get it out by the way, did you stay around to see them achieve that?
Maybe they got off the covered road and got stuck then had the brighter idea to shut it off? It shoulda kept running.I always thought if the engine was running the exhaust could submerge and be ok. And the intake stack is pretty high. A Diesel engine should run on under water. Wonder if the airbox was not sealed well.
I believe the truck was fine after he got pulled out. The problem was he drove off the edge of the road that is now covered with water and he couldn't get it out so he went and got help to winch him out.I always thought if the engine was running the exhaust could submerge and be ok. And the intake stack is pretty high. A Diesel engine should run on under water. Wonder if the airbox was not sealed well.
I literally talked to the owner about two hours before he did this and the "for sale" sign was on the truck. I think he was trying to flip the sale because there are not very many LMTV's in the area but there is a ton of 5tons, get it.Was the for sale sign an after thought I wonder?
We get it, advertisements are annoying!
