Hey Ben,
it's a 2WD Diesel "Bulli" from the German Army. It's the ride of my wife.
My Kids love it to be brought to school with this Car. But picked up with the M1009 is much better

When I'm finished my work on the Bully it will look like the MP Version :

I am surprised they are letting you keep them as military looking as they are. Our inspections on the base over there wanted me to paint a big white stripe down the side of the M1009. I talked them down to a blue one on the back of the tailgate. The next year they tried to tell me that wasn't enough. There was white primer all over the rear corner from sliding into a ditch on it at this point. So I had to argue that if it was good enough last year when they inspected it why wasn't it this year. I saw guys that had to spay POV or NOT GOV all over it to get them to pass. Though the one Coi. wanted me to drive it out to the aircraft we were loading. I told him it was a POV and he replied let's see how far we get, he jumped in and we drove right up to the aircraft unloaded all the firegear out of it and drove back. Ahhhh Good Times lol.

My neighbors have told me to leave it on the driveway (my m1028) to see how long before the homeowners assoc says somthing. I am right at the entrance of the sub-d so eveyone coming in and out would see it. Funny, two of my neighbors told me to do the same thing. I talked to them as a good neighbor to warn them about the 20 year old noisey pickup that was coming home, they welcomed it with open arms. I might just be renting it out.

I think the real test will be if they are willing to put it in their driveway when I get the first letter!

Wait a minute...and don't take this as a slight...but people in Tijuana are complaining about polution?

What do they complain about when the flooded sewer runoff closes the beaches in San Diego?

Yeah, cause the tide carries the sewage up to San Diego.

Lived there 97-01 and it was damn appalling when this would happen over and over again...gack...

you are comparing apples to oranges. tijuana is an industrial city-----------san diego is not..............long beach is an industrial city, they must have sparkling ocean water there......lmao i'd love to go swimming off the coast of new york city......must be super clean there.........actually i know a guy who battled staff for three months cuz he fell into the alawai in hawaii.......i thought hawaii was pristine,

mexico has cleaner beaches for one simple reason.................drainage.....................we have concrete drains that run straight into our oceans. in mexico, the sub-par drainage system actually ends up filtering the runoff before it gets to the ocean.....dirt is a great filtration media

Stormdrain runoff is the greatest source of pollution to local beaches, flowing untreated to the coast and often contaminated with motor oil, animal waste, pesticides, yard waste and trash. After a rain, indicator bacteria densities usually far exceed state health criteria for recreational water use.

(Tobexa beat me to it :) )

Tobexa I think you meant that SoCal has dirtier beaches/water due to their direct route to the ocean.

Any place you have urban areas with large areas of impervious surface (paved and roofed area) runoff has an almost direct route to the nearest body of water. That results in high concentrations of man-made stuff ending up in our watercourses...algae blooms, beach closures, shellfish unsafe to eat etc.

Catch basins with filters and the redirecting of runoff are a few solutions to this. And of course the actions of man factor in too.
