802 wiring question

I'm tracing the circuit from the AC interruper switch to K-1. I'm good to TB-5 & out , til it goes though J-6 on to K-1. How do the fittings at J-6 come apart? I can't find in the TM's how these connectors are to be separated , I don't wanna break these old 1995 fittings.

I presume you're having problems with the Contactor? Is it not closing from the switch?

Yeah Ray, test button illuminates, switch test passed, following circuit through to k-1 ,I lose continuity between tb-5 & k-1 terminal- y ? Wanted to pull apart J-6 & spray some deoxit . This machine had a bunch of corroded connections.

To disconnect the P6 from J6 you need to open the door to the right of where the output lugs are.
P6 will be visible above the intake air deflector immediately below J6 in your picture.
To disconnect P6 from J6 turn the knurled collar on P6 closest to the sheet metal to unlock P6. It is usually CCW. Then pull P6 out of J6.

Ahhh excellent, thanks Kurt ,it came apart easily, but top side does not ?

No. That part is the panel mount side of the connector pair P6/J6. It does not come apart. J6 is bolted to the pan of the cube.
The body of J6 simply holds the contacts for P6 to connect to and has the threads for the P6 collar to screw onto. The part sticking up from J6 is just a strain relief to secure the wires so that the connections from the wires to the contacts in J6 don't wiggle and break from vibration.

Let us know if the connector cleaning fixes it. If not I've been through a few contactor issues lately and can possibly help, but it is pretty self explanatory to test and troubleshoot.

Weeeeeeeeeeeel, yes and no. You can take the top part of the P6/J6 apart. The pins can be removed and replaced I did it one time, and vowed to never do it again. It was a job for someone who has fingers not the size of a coke bottle.

It worked, I sprayed the crap out of the plug & socket, and it's working as it should again !
