Stock Fit Shocks - Once and For All

Howdy!
'bout ready to do the shocks in my stock height M1028. I would like Bilstein. I see tons of people saying go for the 5100 (front) and 5125 (rear), but every Bilstein 5100 states it is for a lift (ranging from 2" up) and there appears to be various nomenclature for the 5100. I've yet to see anyone post about which exact set should be used.
So... Has anyone here actually put Bilsteins on a stock height M1028? If so, what exact model did you use? 24-18077?
I'd be happy with some 4600's too if anyone has actually installed them and can tell me exactly which set fits the stock height M1028.

I recently put them on my 2013 gmc 2500hd. Bilstein 5100’s. Love them, no regrets at all. I don’t think you could go wrong with them.

Too long only matters if the shock is fully compressed before they bump stop is reached. Using a shock for rebound travel limit is common.

I actually put on a set of Blistein 5165, using the stock compression/extension lengths to guide my choices. They are not 100% the same but within 1/4" to 1/2"

This was on my M1010 but they should be the same for a M1008 (not sure about M1009).

I would call Offroad Design and see if they could give you the part numbers. You might just buy them from ORD.

How much did they help ride quality? I went with standard shocks, I was tempted to go with the bilsteins but wasn’t sure it would be worth it with the 10 leaf pack in the rear

Rides very well but don't have many miles. Keep in mind ii do have a M1010 so weight and center of gravity are different.
