2 A/C compressors?

I was online just scrolling through random things that was for sale and notice that there is 2 different types of compressors. What's the difference between the two? I notice one is much longer than the other one. After looking at my truck, I'm pretty sure it had the short size compressor installed before. The pulley is still there but the compressor has been completely removed. I may in the future decide to add a compressor there but I'm already using an electric A/C system, although I kind of hate the fact I already have the pulley and all the mounting brackets for it there with no compressor on it. I even have an evaporator too, and to be fair, it will be nice to have 2 A/C systems

There is a sanden brand compressor for the Red Dot kit, that uses a different mounting bracket and longer belt that is not in the parts book.

The ECV/REV compressor should be the thinner one and mounts the same place as the delete pulley, so no change in belt length from what the book says

Interesting, is there any difference in cooling with the two?

That I don't know.

The ECV/REV system has one compressor and can have either one or two condensers and evaporators (one condenser each fender, one evaporator in the dash and the second between the rear seats)
The Red Dot system is sized for a single evaporator and condenser, but large enough to handle a 4 door truck or slantback truck by itself. On a 2 door truck it's a little overkill (I've turned on the heater with the red dot on low speed in 80 degree weather because it was too cold).
My truck I have a red dot setup, but it's installed with the fender mount condenser as to not take up outside space.


I'd say for either system the compressor isn't the restriction for cooling capacity.
