New Member in SE Michigan - Looking for local HMMWV owners & parts

Hello everyone. First time HMMWV owner and my truck should be here within a week (hopefully). Looking for some local hmmwv owners near me for rides or build guidance if needed. I bought a 2008 M1114 Slantback with less than 800 miles (per odometer).

You can purchase a permit through the SOS to operate an off road vehicle on road, that's how the side by side guys do it. Pure Michigan.....

My vehicle won't be registered or titled in Michigan but will be legal for steet use...thx and maybe you can help me find some trails up there that i'm not familiar with.

I have family who have side by sides, likely this is the process they did. Does that permit limit road use or where you can drive on the roads in Michigan? I will look into this but my plan for registering my vehicle is different. Thanks for the info as this would be a much cheaper and easier route.

Only on a county by county basis , no "M" roads , you have to ride the shoulder and a 72 inch max width for UTV's .

I'm sure there are restrictions, haven't looked that deep yet. I'll post findings here when I do though.
