Good, 2 less parts you need to locate. Looks like the rad needs some attention but at least you have something to work with.

I don't know the TM numbers for that M211 but pretty sure they are in the TM section.

hey guys question i wanna replace the straight six i want to run something with more power preferably a multi fuel what do you think

Multifuel at 465 cubic inches wont fit where 302 used to live. The engine will be in the cab with you and the shifter too far back. Some folks have had luck swapping in a 366 Chevy truck engine with an Allison transmission out of a 80's school bus or uhaul truck. Goes right in and the engine can deal with the high rpms at 55mph.

Looks like your 302 is stuck, somone took out the spark plugs a long time ago, and was about to pull the engine when they gave up on the project.

One thing you have going for you is that with all the M-35 deuce bobbing going on, you will be able to get 11 nice mounted tires and a nice bed and troop seats to replace your kinda not usable ones . . .

Better plan on sandblasting the chassis, looks like the rust is about to get out of hand.

i need a straight six now tried too turn the crank today and cant turn it so i drained the oil pan and gallons of water came out then oil so i think the engine is seized and i dont have time to take this apart somebody can have the straight six i have i just need one that needs a little work

I doubt that engine would be useable even if you did get it to turn over. At the very least, plan on a rebuild. I've used diesel fuel to free stuck engines, but judging by the open water inlet (i think that's what it is) and the way the plugs look, it's shot.

I would be doubtful. It may still be rebuildable, but the only way to tell that is to tear into it. I'm sure someone with more knowledge of these motors will chime in, but that's my

Well, you definately have a project on your hands. But you can't ever turn free stuff away, well most free stuff anyways. Have fun with it. Wear gloves, don't want tetnus.

looks like one really nice free m211 .dont let the haters get to you they are just mad they didnt get it.you have alot of work a head of you but parts for them are cheap and fairly easy to find.its a gm 302 motor in there i beleive auto trans is cool .dont know why they stopped using autos when they went to the m34-m35 series truck

Pull the head off, that'll let you know if you really need to rebuild it or not. If the cylinders aren't pitted from rust, a light hone might clean them up. Surprisingly I've seen a motor that sat outside for years clean up with a hone and using some .001" oversized rings. It's not the best solution, but it's the easiest and cheapest.

I like the truck, I love that body style! It'd be awesome retrofitted with a newer engine in it.

Well if it is a GMC it is a gas powered truck for sure. And it is not the M35A... is not part of the M44series trucks. Instead it is a M211 truck. You'll need to find all the manuals for that truck not the M44 series trucks. I don't know where to find those off hand try Olivedrab.com they might have resources for you. The trucks are simple but you will need wiring diagrams and other stuff like that.
