Just dont buy from GL if you feal that way,

theres 1,000,000 threads about how bad they are: Breaking things ,loading the wrong things , loosing things , etc etc.

Just play it safe and buy from private people. This has nothing to do with the person that started this thread when I say this ok : Arent most of us sick of the whining when you get screwed by them?

Theres tons of threads on SS from How to bid , to doing your EUC to picking up your truck yet people still cry/bitch/complain about GL not doing things to your liking. Am I Right or Wrong?

I feel your pain. I'm going thru the same thing right now with my EUC. Why give out a personal phone extension if you don't answer or even return calls.
. That's no way to do business ,no matter what some on here may think. We as customers have expectations that should be met. It's not a lot to ask for a freakin' response from someone who has contacted you for more info, especially if you want clarification to their unclear requests. They've got our money so why hurry it's in the bank making them interest as we speak. It gets very frustrating when they ask for something you already sent because they haven't opened an attachment to an email and looked for it. Hurry up and wait I guess.

Again, as bulldog_mack said, DON'T USE THEM if you can't handle having to jump over additional hurddles. These guys don't get paid off of referrals, references, bonuses, etc. They have no incentive to do anything but punch the clock.

I've bought 4 items needing EUCs since Feb. A couple went smooth and a couple were total charlie foxtrot's. Hounding them every day or bitchin' here is not going to change that. Either roll with the flow or get the hell off the boat.

Jumping thru hoops is one thing , but when they don't open a damn email attachment is another. And as far as them not getting incentives ,well guess what ... most Americans do the same thing ,they work for a paycheck with no spiffs. That's no excuse to under perform. I totally understand the "long wait"
thing with GL. I would just like a little less confusion on their end. I think the people at customer service are super nice. By the way I thought this forum was a place for people to discuss experiences both good and bad.

When you are used to dealing with school kids & parents who will kiss your a** it is a hard dose of reality when you get the same treatment as everybody else does. "I called at least 30 times" " It's been 3 days" "I know it said up to 45 days but I'm special." Obviously somebody did'nt do a thorough research before bidding. A school teacher that spells paid as "paied' & hear as "here" is not paying attention to the details. That is why there is problems with the EUC process. ALL of the steps for a successful application have been covered on this site. Revisions needed-- That shows that the applicant did not follow instruction correctly, also the requests for a color D/L & export letter show that somebody at GL is doing their job of processing the EUC. There just is not enough time to hold everybody's hand & say "It's OK".

Since my last purchase from GL I have refused to go that route again! And it's not just because the wife says no more trucks/generators/trailers and cuz I'm broke! :)

It's pretty simple - the reason private party/dealer trucks cost more is because someone is getting paid for their GL/DMV hassles. You can either live it yourself or pay someone to do it for you. The GL and DMV crap isn't going away.

Discuss is one thing but so far almost the only thing I'm hearing in this thread is whining about something taking a couple of weeks instead of going through the drive-thru for their EUC. Instant gratification is for microwave popcorn not government paperwork.

Maybe we could have a GL VENTS area? Make it the only place you could complain about GL. :)

My first purchase seemed to take forever for the EUC to clear then another 45 days for the Sf-97. Now , 8 trucks, 5 trailers, 6 gen units and countless other things, the EUC is 6-8 days and 28 days for the SF-97. I feel your pain and aggrevation. It gets better. Wait until you buy a truck that turns out to be a real stinker. Then you will be mad and it will be at yourself and not at GL.

Good Idea Dug , then it would make SS better and stop all the 100's of threads.

A scammed thread works too but if the person is friends with a person in the right place on SS then it gets deleted or down played. Alot of us know what im talking about.

I think Rat means a thread for those who "scammed" or got a great deal off of GL. That happens too. Not to me of course, but it happens.

I felt lucky for the chance to own a forty year old piece of history that has not been dinked with by joe public ,
I can consider my truck a one owner truck that is all correct as a military vehicle unlike the other restorations I have done .
also it was 50% of the value for the cost of a little paperwork and time .
admit it as soon as the truck hits your drive way the value you are willing to take for it is twice what you gave for it
Ps this is just a blip in time in history and everyone that took advantage of this opportunity will look back and wish they could do it again.

You guys are soooo funny about complaining about the wait time.

My first win for a deuce from GL was back in September of 2001 right before the 11th. Yep you guessed it, everything came to a stand still after 9/11. I did not get my truck until MARCH of 2002 - 6 months later and my title was another 3 months of waiting ( thats when they actually gave titles and not the stupid SF97's).

So, it could be worse!!

This is exactly how I feel. But...

My biggest problem with the whole process is the SF97/titling part, and trying to get a temp tag without title. According to GL, you can't fill out the SF97 before picking up the truck, then predictably, you get a real winner at the DMV that won't accept a bill of sale. Logic doesn't exist at the DMV, if I had a title, I wouldn't need a temp tag, I would get a plate! They don't care if you show them that you filled out an SF97.
