Well, with the cold cold weather we've been having here lately, the biodiesel plant has had major issues the last few weeks. I finally got to load my tanker that I purchased and haul some oil. Took about 4hrs to load it, as the one tank had 3500 in it and it was coldish, and the heated tank had 1500. They had been pumping the heated oil into the cold tank (at 130 degrees) to thin it out a little. Their pump only does 50-60 GPM. The trailer pump is rated at 300gpm loading. We got more like 100-125gpm depending on if we hit a cold layer in the tank or not. The hot oil went really fast. It took only 30min to unload it at Charleston. They were scared of my mighty 600gpm off load talk (bet the pump would only do half that with the cold oil) so they used their installed pump. Still went really fast.
M818 did very well, used about 1 and 1/3 tank there and back. I figured 4 MPG loaded and 6 empty. Not bad. Still really slow on the hills heading out of and into Columbia. Haul about 8 more loads of oil, and I'll have a m915.
And, of course, here are some pics.
