Las Vegas area get together!

Looking to maybe have a get together for the SSers in the area (LV, Boulder City, Henderson Etc), or whoever wants to show up, in Las Vegas sometime in March/April.

I would love to drive out to Vegas in the 5 ton before it gets too hot.

I will be on crutches from Feb until Sep and wont be able to drive the M820A2 out might be able to convince the wife to pack up the kids and road trip it in the Expedition.

I'll keep that under serious consideration airbornebandsman !! Might be able to make a firm commitment if its between March 1st and March 23rd. Heading back to Montana. We usually drycamp at Las Vegas Bay Campground (Dept of Interior) on Lake Mead just a little ways from Henderson. I have slides and videos of the Arlington Air and Military Vehicle Show and Parade last year and the same for the 2010 PNW Campout, Parade and Convoy in Washington state. Would be very happy to show them to all of you. Looking forward to meeting everyone if the dates are ok with you. Have a good one. elkhunter. I've added you to my contact list.

Still working on the dates, looks like beginning to Mid-April. I thought I would have heard from some locals on this. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on where we should set up camp (Nellis dunes, dry lake beds south of Vegas, etc.) and what we should do during the get together (trail ride down the strip?(not sure about that but would be interesting)).

I've never been to any events so any help, guidance would be appreciated.

papabear, you don't have the time to come out here! Besides you have snow and cold weather to worry about. Another storm is heading your way in the future. The casinos do take "OD" paper money though. the real stuff. it's better that you stay in Georgia.

You're right Elk. That's some good sage advice from a good troop.

Here's some advice from me...If ya can, go meet Mik and his family...they are super good troops and CAMO still carries them on our roster as "deployed troops".

Yes papabear I hope to meet him and the others before going backup to Montana. Sounds like he's been on a long deployment!!Perhaps an order from a higher authority could get you here as well. that would be fun-fun-fun!!

Sure, I could spot you guys a few bucks each. Heck you could even stay at our place and save some $$.

Here's an idea to toss about. If the Las Vegas get together shifts a little ot the West, and the spring Camp Dirtbag shifts a little to the East, we could have one big get together together. Probably having the event in Nevada would be best.

One drawback, potential long drives for both groups.
