Black Rock Fab 8" Hanger Relocation Lift Kit PRICE UPDATE ON PAGE 7!!!

[FONT=&quot]Hey guys figured i would start a thread with some info and detailed pics of my lift that i built and installed on my truck that i have been driving for the past few months.

Right now the first kit has been sold to "usmctopgun" (Mike) who has just arrived home from oversees and is doing a great build for a great cause (toys for tots). I feel honored to be apart of it and hope he is happy with his purchase. For Mike i am doing custom front and rear plates which will be shown below soon as i get all the pictures uploaded (this may take some time).

Will have more pictures as i get a chance. Now, i did make reversions to the set going to Mike. The rear set of the front hangers will have the cross brace removable, making a tranny swap easier. Also, the plate that bolts to the bottom portion of the frame for the rear will not have any holes in them allowing customer to choose any wheelbase desired (depending on wheelbase cross member holes can be used).

Thanks Kyle

DEUCE LIFT REMOVABLE MEMB ER.jpg
This is the removable crossmember, so this hanger setup is on the front end but the rear set below the tranny

FRONT AND REAR FACE PLATEHANGERS.jpg
This is the front hanger system, has bolts for the face plate. This is the same setup used in the rear hanger system (minus holes in the plate that bolts to bottom of frame).

Looks cool. Now the big question.....How much?!
I like, Any rough idea of a price? would i be able to buy it pre-welded?

Thank you guys for the interest. To answer ODdave's question. Yes, you can purchase the lift partially welded. I was thinking of offering it in different stages of completion. The furthest i could build the kit would consist of each hanger welded with the lower nuts welded in place. i could not weld in the nuts for the lower mounting point on the frame , that should be done on the truck itself. Also, inside plate and tube must be done on the truck for better fitment.

As for Price, the kit i installed on my truck was cut on a plasma table and i wasnt very happy with the quality of the cut inside the 1/2 dia holes. Now plasma is a cheaper route but i wouldn't feel comfortable shipping parts unwelded if i wasn't completely satisfied with. So i sent the files to a laser shop that will have a quote out to me by Friday.

Keep the questions coming guys.

Thanks Kyle

Looks good so far . I just have one question if it is all welded up how will you make sure the bolts that go through the bottom of the frame are tight? You can get a pretty decent cut with a plasma you just need to make sure you are going in the right direction and using the right gas for the metal.. You are limited when using air ...Don't forget to make plenty of warning labels and disclaimers to protect yourself

To answer your question the nuts are welded on the inside so the bolts screw in from the top allowing you to check the torque on these bolts during routine maintenance. Also, i recommended using all sae flat washers with lock washers. (picture below was just mock up so i didn't have lock washer on for this step).

I should rephrase, plasma is very good depending on the conditions, hd plasma machine, gas used. . .

I am interested in the price, and if other size kits (smaller) would be available. I run 53s on my bobbed duece with no lift and no issues, but I think another 3" would look pretty good.

Yep, I've seen the truck too first hand. Top notch fab work, very well thought out! He mentions that he would rather have the final tube welded on the truck for fitment; our frames are supposed to be a specific width (I forget...it may be 32"...but it doesn't matter for what I'm saying) but if you measure your frame at the front, middle, and rear, you'll probably find difference 1/8" to 3/8". That said certain parts you would want to finish on the truck for fitment as he said.

Hey Kyle, did you get a price on that Goodyear and is Josh making that run soon? PM me.

Thanks!

Yes, i am very interested in making other options to suit your interest. I just need someone that will work with me on it. Meaning i will give the first customer of a new project a large price break to be the first to install and do a write up on whatever product that may be.

This goes for anything also, any ideas you would like to see on a deuce. I was thinking of offering a simple roll cage that just ties to the floor, or a lift kit for leaving both axles in rear. . .

Well you found someone then :) I have done this sort of thing for many companies, on my site RamchargerCentral.Com - Index - Online Dodge Truck & SUV Community for all Mopar - Dodge, Plymouth, Chrysler, Cummins and Jeep owners. we have a How To section where we do this very thing. Take pics, document the install, etc. Of coarse the ones I have done before were for Dodge trucks and Cummins stuff.

Do you think a small lift would require any driveshaft modifications? I know in the small truck world little lifts don't, haven't really looked at a deuce driveshaft to see.

Cool, you should make stuff for those old Dodge trucks too :)
I make lots of stuff. My work isn't limited to deuces. I build lots of parts for off road trucks, monster trucks and classic cars. I also build custom off road shocks and steering cylinders

Funny you talk about Dodges. I'm going to start a tribute build on a 1978 Dodge truck for a best friend who passed away 5 years ago. Know anyone selling a 1st gen cummins motor, tranny and t case? also looking for dana 60 front and rear ( or 14bolt) Pm me if you do.

Thanks Kyle
