I have been wondering how a 7JZ to another 7JZ could be a 3126 to a C7. Putting his serial numbers 7JZ00594 and 7JZ06815 in CAT SIS finds a 3126, not a C7—
There are PDF's of FMTV TM's in the Technical Manuals forum. I recall submitting Schematics for FMTVA1 for certain serial numbers. Perhaps that will help; I zoom in to enable reading and following routes.
You likely will find other helpful TM's and parts lists there, too—
229A, 229B, and 3000 appear near the EMI filter. 229A & B going to the ECM (P188-67 & P188-65), 3000 looks like it is related to the warm up and exhaust brake switch through L11 (engine exhaust brake solenoid)—
Looking for specifications for lift pump pressure found this Adept Ape youtube
At 7:00 minutes he mentions the pressure expected on the 3126: 55# perhaps 70 to 80#
So, if I understand:
1— move water fuel separator filter to the tank— easily viewed at every fuel fill and walk about;
2— bypass mechanical lift (60 psi) pump at HEUI pump with electric 60 psi pump between water separator and primary filters.
Essentially removing one pump and repacing geared...
I haven't owned a piece of CAT equipment in the last 30 years, but even those simply needed the injectors cracked while cranking. Pumping a primer pump is a new experience for me on a diesel engine on the M1078A1. The last time I pumped to prime fuel was on an outboard motor.
Adding an...
Looking at CAT SIS2.0 It looks like the pump group includes transfer pump and solenoid, reman for about 15% less than new. Also, the reman is on the shelf at our local CAT Truck location, new would be order (1-2 days)—

We lost our primer pump recently and now that we have it all back together it looks like the HUEI is gone. Only 283# at crank. Fortunately we are home now.
I was thinking about trying the solenoid, though with the potential for losing $1,000 injectors I am thinking whole manufactured if we...
Our experience, unloaded, is we always run out of traction before power. I don't recall a time power was even a consideration. Without lockers we must keep everything on the ground, old school off roading. With a bread basket locker I'd think EcoHubs are just what you need—
