The 2 hoses on the front axle are the breather and the front axle air lock. The breather is tied to the rear cab mount cross member. The rear breather is on the front side of the rear frame cross member. The CTIS hoses are behind the backing plate
There’s not much you can do but cage them. 1088 is easier to just chock wheels, release brakes and tap the shoes with a long bar and hammer. I’ve been working on them since 1998
