We built it ourselves. One of my FF's is a welder and did all the fab work and Diamond C Sandblasting in Granbury did the paint work. It turned out better than I ever thought it would. The Forest Service gave us the truck and part of the deal is it must be painted. They also gave us $20k to buy...
Thanks for the info. I need this one to go as high as the wipers. I need it to cover the whole front end. It will have to have some expanded metal in it to protect the opening in the front. Tree limbs can cause a lot of damage to coolers and radiators. We have some ideas and when we get it...
We are in the process of building a brush truck and was wondering if anyone has pics of a brush guard that someone has built for the M-1078. I have seen a lot of fire truck pics but none have a brush guard. Thanks.
We are starting to rig out our new m1078 for a brush truck and I need to now the best way to get 12V. I want to run power to a master switch and then to a new fuse box that will power a radio, siren, intercom and some LED flashers. What is the best way to get power from the fuse panel in the cab...
Is there a market for the dropsides and troop seats on a 1998 M1078?We just got this truck and won't be using the sides and was wondering what they might be worth.Thanks.
Thanks for the info. We put the brush guard to keep from scrathing the paint. The truck has been a beast over the years and has been through some thick brush. It's knocked down a lot of cedar trees. We are replacing it with a 1998 M1078. There is a big difference in size.
Can anyone tell me how to figure out what year my M813A1 is? We bought it from the Federal Surplus about 10 years ago and it didn't have a title. When we went to dmv to get one it came back as a 1990 Jeep. I am getting ready to sell it and just wanted to make sure what year it really is. Thanks
I was trying to buy an air filter for the M813A1 today and didn't have any luck. Can anyone give me a brand and a part number? We went through a book and couldn't find anything with the same dimensions. Thanks for the help.
