I think I found our timing problem with the pump. look at the plunger and compare it with the picture in the manual, the manual states that the drive pin must line up with the distributor slot. if you look at the plunger the distributor slot and drive pin are i'm guessing about 20 degrees off...
The head has been completely rebuilt, compression is at 425, injectors are both new, fuel pop off at 1850psi the injection pump is timed correctly (I’m sure) the engine timing is correct as well; the governor is correct along with the governor spring and adjustment, throttle is adjusted good...
My mechanic is stating the needle isn't sealing properly allowing pressure to suck backwards on the injector lines. It's the needle and the seat that's leaking, he also did a vacuum test on it and it was leaking, we tried to lap it with no luck
My injection valve is not sealing, I have been trying to lap it with no luck, ambac wants more than I paid for the whole generator for just the valve and seat.
Any advice for my mep 002a?
First thank you for your help!
I took apart the governor mechanism thinking the engine may have been a tooth out of time and to check the balls in the governor mechanism.
I am so confused at this compression being so low, with dropping oil before the test it didn't change anything, maybe the...
So everything is original, the pump and everything has been rebuilt and timed correctly, it's apart or I would post a video.
The biggest concern is 2xx hours it's compression is only 3xx not even up to 400, I did find some oil shooting through the air filter for some reason. The head was...
350 hours runs rough like the high pressure pump is out of time. It's perfect, pulled the flywheel to verify time is correct there. Brand new injectors and pump rebuild. It's hunts almost like the governor is not working but verified everything looks to be just fine with the balls and in that...
Okay thank you, I have everything run to 50 amp RV hook up then run to a distribution block pics attached is the flat side down the still recommended choice? I thank you for the help!!
Thank you very much, I guess that's all I need is to clarify where the flat part of the switch is, wish I could find another switch but they have been out of stock for a long time now
So I already messed up the switch but I am not sure what position this is set to with the flat part on top, bought it without the switch so I have no reference.
My mep002a phase switch was stuck and my dumb butt forced it to turn; power works but i think i damaged the switch; does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix it? it seems like i did bend it; the unit still makes power i am just not sure if i damaged anything....input?
