DO THIS. Because if you don't you will end up like me paying $8.49 for 12 ounces. I dumped all 24 ounces I had into it at the DRMO and it still was not full. AND it needs bled.
Yes they are!
Here's a pic of my old turbo next to my new one. Looks like I HAD a whistler and got a non. Not that I really care. I just wish I could get the truck operational. I finally got it started and it still has a really bad knock. No more smoke though! The old turbo was BAD. Pics to...
I finally decided to bite the bullet and just buy a new turbo. I couldn't justify the cost of a used one over the new.
First off, THANK YOU to this website and also their sponsor Saturn Surplus. I got a new turbo for a great price from them and shipping wasn't bad either! Thanks Mark for the...
Is that your house? I can't believe they let you have the deuce in the city! LOL After many citations I had to stop leaving anyting outside in view. <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_sad.gif" alt="Sad">
Good luck with the install. Take lots of pics. <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif"...
That would have been nice to read before picking up the deuce! Gotta love the Government's artists. Ms Santa is looking HAWT!! <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve"><img src="emoticons/icon_smile_approve.gif" alt="Approve"><img src="emoticons/icon_smile_pimp.gif" alt="Pimp">
I have Farm Bureau Financial Services insurance.
Historical is $68 a year
Regular is $320 a year.
I'm 28, have no tickets and home-multi car discounts. I just switched from Farmers because they sucked. I checked into about 70% of the ones in the phone book and FB came out on top. Plus they...
Outlaw, I typed diesel but I meant oil. Sorry for the confusion! I edited the post. I topped it off before I left the DRMO and by the time I went about a mile to get it topped off again it took 2 gallons of oil. <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_jawdrop.gif" alt="Jawdrop">
Any updates? I'm having exactly the same problem with mine. Oil out the stack and loud clacking sound. I haven't taken anything apart yet but will hopefully get to that this weekend if it doesn't rain.
How long did you run it before it stopped? I blew the turbo on mine leaving the DRMO yard. I'm sure it's a bad seal, but I sucked 2 gallons of oil out in about a mile. I was scared to flog it to bad.
Maybe I should throw more oil into it and try again. <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_shrug.gif"...
After further inspection there was so much oil coming out of the turbo it leaked all over the starter and that side of the engine.
I'm going to pull the turbo when I get time and drop it off and see if it's bad and get it rebuilt if it is. The truck still had good oil pressure even though it...
Well, I thought everything was going great. Put new batteries in it. Fired up and ran smooth. The brakes need to be bled. Pedal is low. Has good brakes though. Warmed it up to temp and noticed that anytime I idle it up gray/white smoke billows out the stack. Oh boy.
Blew the seal on the turbo...
Kenneth, thanks for the info. I'm going to just swap the batteries and deal with the others later. But it's nice to have the jumping procedure in my head for future reference!
You don't happen to have a number off them do you? Or dimensions? They can't figure out what battery it is without one or the other. And of course I can't get back onto base before I need to pick the truck up Monday am. <img src="emoticons/icon_smile_help.gif" alt="Help">
If I were to just jump...
Anyone have a suggestion on where to buy batteries? Or even if I should. Could I get away with taking the 2 good optima's I have and putting them in?
Is it possible to jump start a deuce with a 12v battery? I'm thinking the batteries are OK and I hate to waste $$ but I need to get it started...
I was down at the DRMO last month and did the 145 point inspection. If my EUC was approved I would have driven it to the nearest gas station and just topped it off there. It's just a little low on the dip stick. All other fluids were recently replaced and topped off.
The guard it came from was...
IMO In My Opinion. Here's another great place for 12V CTD tech. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=10
You have any pics of your deuce anywhere?
For 2500 it would be worth it IMO. If I had $2500 I could blow without getting yelled at by the finance manager I would buy one. The engine will fetch about $2000-$2500 depending on how complete it is. And the Allison tranny's are going for just over $1000.
Put a TST plate on it and start...
