My 86 was machined for a pilot bearing. I've not heard of a crank not being machined for one, but it wouldn't surprise me. I did the swap on mine four or five years ago. I pulled the pedal assembly and clutch assembly from a junk yard. It's a pretty easy and straight forward swap. If I were...
For my 1009, I went with 4" lift springs up front with a zero rate. The rear I did a shade tree shackle flip, moved the rear hangers back and 56" springs with leaves removed for plenty of flex. Now that the rear springs have been flexed and over flexed many times, they are starting to sag...
Yes, that's the tag light. I ran the power wire down through the inside of the tailgate, out one of the the bottom drain holes and spliced into the tail light harness. I just grounded it back to one of the bolts that holds the light to the gate.
The first link has a bunch of misc. pics ranging from the day I brought the truck home to the present. The following links are from a couple off road trips I made with a few fellow club members. Specs: the front is lifted via 4" Tough Country lift springs and 1" Zero Rates. The rear has a...
I'm taking fresh pics of the truck today, but won't get them posted for a day or so. I'm out of town using the in-laws computer.
I lifted the front 5" using 4" Tough Country springs and a 1" Zero Rate from ORD. The rear I did a shade tree shackle flip and 2" block degreed to correct...
Before the lift, I was getting a consitant 25 mpg. After the 6" lift and 35's I average 20-23 mpg. Buster is my daily driver and I average 200-250 miles a day. My worst mileage has been 18 mpg and I had my foot in it hard about all day. I get the same mileage empty or pulling the bass boat.
I chose to go with the under dash "air only" kit. It's slimline under dash unit and comes with the compressor, lines, dryer, blank brackets for the compressor, condensor and trinary switch. Going this route, I won't have to disturb the original heat/defrost system and should blow much cooler...
Thanks for the info. After further searching, I ordered a 28MToff evilbay today. As soon as it arives, I'll be converting to 12V. Then on to installing the Vintage Air under dash a/c. :hop:
Congrats! I'll be doing the swap this week, so I can go ahead and get started with the Vintage Air install. Out of curiosity, what starter did you go with?
