Hello, I have a M35A2 that won't start and needs to find a way to a mechanic. Truck is located on property owned my by in laws and I can't get a normal truck/trailer on the property to move the truck.
I am looking for someone to help tow the truck with a tow bar about 60 miles. I am willing...
Woops, I got caught not installing the parts I ordered two years ago! I blame lack of time to work on my truck on son number two. He turns two in April.
I went to Home Depot today and picked up a variety of pipe caps. I returned home and tried to unscrew the existing switch and put on a cap...
I searched for an answer for my problem, but I didn't find one, so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.
I was moving my truck from its parking spot to the shop to get a brake cylinder replaced and needed to make a quick pit stop at the house. When I pulled up, the brake pedal went to the...
I'm going to try and manufacture one of these bleeders but I don't have an extra MC cap to use, and I don't have the truck here for reference. Thanks for posting the pictures!
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use the existing MC cap on the bleeder once it is constructed? Or, is there a...
Guys, thanks a ton for your extremely generous offers!
One of the reasons I like working on my truck is that if you can read a TM, you can perform general maintenance, even without extensive automotive knowledge. It is situations like I'm in now that are a little frustrating because I don't...
Yes, but they are when the headlights and tail lights are on, right?
The guys at Saturn informed me they were out of the kits and had no timeline as to when they would have additional kits in stock.
Thanks, DieselBob, that is very helpful.
If anyone else knows, I'm still trying to determine...
I have a problem with the brake lights on my truck. The lights work when the headlights are on, but do not respond when the brake pedal is depressed. I read some of the old posts about this problem and believe my brake switch is the problem. I have the old style brake switch, so while...
I called several places and found two who had the entire kit in stock. One was $85 and one $55. Here is the link for the cheaper kit:
UCOM #7006 Stoplight Switch Kit
If you want to order from UCOMINC, you need to call them directly, and note they open and close early, I believe 5-2:30 EDT...
I am in Austin. I did a short test drive of about 30 feet and the brakes do stop the truck, which they didn't do on Monday so I'm kinda proud of my first mechanical effort on any piece of machinery.
I would absolutely love some help. My main problem right now is that I need to move the truck...
rlwm, thanks for the detailed explanation. I will try that this evening.
I didn't have a soldier b so to speak, I just had a stick that I wedged against the brake pedal. That is some redneck engineering!
Filled reservoir to 1/2" from top, put cap back on and hose back in cap. It was wrench tight. Started with the master cylinder. Turned 3/4 of a turn or so until fluid came out. It came out for about three seconds or so with no air, so I turned it back to stop the flow, and then wrench...
Woops!! Don't know why I thought that was the fuel filter, and as my wife will attest, I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Thanks for all the replies!
For the brakes, dang, I'd like to get it to the shop for them to take a look. It is about 10 miles away. Previously the pedal was...
Two quick questions:
1) (First question has two parts) a) I bled the brakes and it was not incredibly hard. Tedious, sure, but not hard. The back left wheel had an issue where no fluid came out when I loosened the bleeding screw 1 full revolution. I continued, and it finally started coming...
After only 2 3/4 months, the truck was delivered today. There was a GL sticker with something to do with antifreeze on the dash, and it does not look like the winch instructions were taped over. I need to do a test of the winch to see if it works.
The troop seats in the back are serviceable...
Refilling the master is not all that simple for me, so maybe I'm missing something. Do I need to take off the hose fitting (which is a pain in itself because there is only maybe 2" of wrench room to work with), unscrew the cylinder lid, add fluid, put the cylinder lid back on, and finally add...
