OK back in from the garden, my M54 on 1400s stands at 127cm tall , my M35 on 900s stands 97 so my guess would be 1100s to stand about 107cm tall,
so 900s rolling diameter 2.95m
1100s = 3.59m so an overgearing of about 20%,
hence at 50mph using a conversion 1.2 gives 60mph
Does that work out...
OK. Now understand.
So next question.
Using pye r squared how high is a 1100 compared to a 900 so I can work out the additional ground covered with each turn of the wheel.
I bet somebody has already done this!
Cheers,
dave
WOW so fast, like talking in real time. Thanks.
So if I used the M35/A2 rims the wheels wont all track in the same track. Do I understand that correctly,
Many Thanks,
Dave
Hi, I'm UK based so don't have your 'cultural knowledge' or spares avilability. I'd like to do this conversion to my M35/A2. Fliping the hubs is no problem.
So I need to know;
1. What's the problem with the standard rims on the M35/A2 presumably they track incorrectly.
2. Would an 1100x20 fit...
Many thanks for the pointing me in the right direction. I turned the pump back down 1 complete 365 degrees before it made any appreciable difference, still pulls great but now far less smoke. The previous owner had obviuosly gone overboard!
Cheers,
Dave
Firstly,
its a long time since I was here last so Hello to all, Happy Christmas/New Year/Thanks giving etc and birthday for all those things I've missed.
Anyway, I've had for a long time a pair of M54s on 1400X20s, one has sat in the barn since I got it. Now that I've started to take her out I...
Hello all,
Can anybody give me some X referance ( or any) maufacturer part numbers for the oil and fuel filers on my M54 Multifuel LDS 465 1A.
My EX USAF stock has ran dry and I need fuel filters urgently and oil filters would be nice while I'm on.
My local truck supplier says it's no...
Many thanks for the reply.
The 5tonners that the US upgraded over here had the 250, but I see they had to lengthen the bonnet side flaps to fit the radiator in. The 250 in the 5 tonner is pretty awsum, given that the max we can run at is what we tare off at , ie about 9.5tonnes. (having said...
Many thanks,
I'd figured a complete engine/geabox swap might be the way to do it. BUT the spag on the transfer box is worked by those air solinoids on the gearbox, some kind of sensor system to stop the transfer engauging when you slip into reverse. So I guess I'll have to build a manual system...
Hello all, I'm UK based and own 1 of a very small handfull of the 5 tonners over here, so no help locally. I would like to upgrade my sick 465 to a Cummins which is readily available and easier to get parts for. So, which is the best Cummins to fit given that the truck will never run loaded...
