I've been running it on diesel so far, and I was aware of the official list of fuels that mostly consist of kerosenes and jet fuel, but was wondering specifically about running on lower octane gasoline , or weird stuff like tequilla
I've acquired an MEP 362, a few maybe, with a tiernay tt10. I'm assuming they'll run okay on anything combustible , but my main concern was compressor surging or exhaust gas temperature. I'm also on the hunt for a solar turbines t62, but what I wanted to know is, what is safe to run in these?
How has this project gone? I haven't worked with a tiernay turbine before but from what I'm reading its very similar to the solar t62 down to how everything is setup as well as size, the difference is spec that the gearbox runs at (mechanical output is much higher! This tiernay turbine seems...
I think they were talking about this one (maybe I bought it...) being the one patracy was talking about on ebay
as far as the GPT 70 on ebay , I was very tempted by this one as well to put into service to power a small truck (see "big red") , but its condition is unknown. I've been looking at...
Are we talking about the GPU in florida? It is kind of perfect for what I'm trying to do in the long run which is to experiment on muffling and controlling the hot temperatures of the exhaust gas in a similar setup to the old chrysler turbine car, plus I have a bunch of 24-28volt stuff I can run...
I'll take a look soon!
Being an assistant to an A&P certified guy who worked with PT6 turboshaft powerplants for cropdusters and t62 solar turbines for homebuilt helicopters, with all the pieces to make them run all there. I'm considering looking for just a t62 but it looks like it would be...
I am new to military equipment for the most part, but I'm familiar with turboprop powerplants, and I've been wanting a 10kw gas turbine generator , or any gas turbine really. I was looking for one to get started hands on with them, and thought a generator would be a good start since its...
I'm one of the crazy ones that drives these long distances, I just drove from chicago to new orleans as I'm in the process of moving from nola to chicago and picking stuff up with the truck. After I finish going through the lube order I was going to DM you asking for contact specifics and start...
I wondered if air supply was an issue, I don't think I need power steering either but I've been spoiled by the M813 5 ton easily getting around tight spots and being forgiving when I pack myself into urban parking lots lol, thanks all for the replies and info!
The kits are out there, but for what they are, often requiring fabrication and fitting rather than being a true kit, is there a good source to get m35a3 air P/S or a hydraulic kit that isn't as much as the truck itself?
I figured it out, I found it was much deeper in the mud than I thought thanks to the improved lighting of today, I was just being stupid and got some of the axles propped up
I thought the same, I’m going to take a video when there is daylight out. It must be some kind of mechanical failure (transfer case?) but I can’t really imagine what else it would be
The front axle should get locked by a sprag when the rear two spin, right?
I'm in a very shallow mud (can stand in it with flip flops!) I put it in low reverse, and very slowly release the clutch to find the rear 2 axles slowly begin to move (not slip) but the power gets dumped into the front...
