Looking to get some paint later and do it up in a 3 camo(green/brown/black). Wife and my son wants me to paint it gray and black. I like the camo paint myself.
Cleaned-up the CUCV-II Crew Cab today. I also took the wheels off my other CUCV-II and put them on the Crew Cab. I checked all the brakes at the same time and all looks good. I plan on taking it for a 80 mile trip to work and back on Tuesday. That should tell me if there are any hidden problems...
Got my new Warn winch cable in the mail tonight. Hooked it up to the winch and it works perfect.
Warn 83665 remote control. Works on D connector or 3 / 5 round connectors.
The winch is a Warn, XD9000, 12 volt.
How about this statement:
The Hummer has a full-time system with additional features that can be engaged for enhanced off-road performance. In this system, just as in our basic system, the transmission is hooked up to the transfer case. From the transfer case, one driveshaft connects to the...
Fixed the fuel leak. It was the little clamp on one of the injectors return line. I didn't have the clamp on all the way.
The front crank seal is leaking a little oil. Oil pressure seems to be ok and I don't see any blow-by out the dip stick tube or fill tube.
Damage to drivetrain will occur if transfer case ranges are not selected properly.
Recommended Shift Lever Position for pavement.
"H" (high range)
Transfer case shift lever
is used to select vehicle driving range, “L” (low
range), “N” (neutral), “H” (high range), and “H/L” (high lock range).
$$$, I know what you mean. I wish I could fine a GEP 6.5L close to me.....always good to have spare parts. Going to start pulling the GEP engine in the CUCV-II Reg Cab soon. Are you keeping your engine?
New Stanadyne....made in Italy.
I thought since I had everything stripped down it was a good time to replace the injector and glow plugs. Good thing is I don't see any oil leaks. Fuel system looks clean(JP-8 in the tank..3/4 full)
Going to work on the fuel leak today.
Drove it around the block a few times....runs great. Good power and good brakes. Transmission shifts like it should. I don't see any more oil leaks at this time, but will keep a watch on this.
I will have to find some rims and get new tires for sure.
After I parked it in the driveway, I could...
From the web...
One of the simple methods used to test the CDR valve is to run a length of clear tubing from the engine oil dipstick tube down to a small bottle containing motor oil. At 1500-2000 rpm, the crankcase pressure should be negative (normal case, CDR valve operating correctly) and...
Crankcase Depression Regulator Valve or CDR Valve for all 6.5 Turbo Diesels 92-02 and 6.2's 88-92. The valve is similar in function to a PCV valve in a gas engine. On a diesel, the CDR valve regulates the amount of pressure or blowby from the crankcase back to the intake thru the turbo. This is...
Some pictures of the replacement parts.
They had the wrong Glow Plugs installed.
I may still have some oil leaks...maybe the front crank seal or front of the oil pan. Maybe the rear main also.
I'll have to wash under the truck real good and take it for a test run Monday and see if it still...
This is the video after I replaced the leaking Valve Covers. Oil pressure is back to normal after I replaced the CDR Valve.
I also installed new Injectors, Fuel Filter and Glow Plugs.
