Well, the zippers came in and I had a few moments free this morning.
First is a photo of the diagrams and planning. I used the diameters supplied to come up with conical measurements to join the two circles (axle and hub) with a 6.5” gap between for the 8” #10 brass zipper. I added 1/4”-1/2”...
I installed a non-electric Pyrometer when I turned my fuel up 1/8th. Based on what I've read for the 6.2L diesel, I keep her below 1100. My engine is tired and I have the gen 1 gearing in my drivetrain so I have to accept I'll never be fast but at least it can move a hair faster.

Thanks for the referral Wheelspinner. I'm not sure that shipping to Spain is worth the effort, though I can check. I do have one set of OD Green half doors available, but I would have to check not only shipping costs but whether parts for HMMWVs are subject to ITAR restrictions because the...
I guess I better get going, seeing the interest.
I began my next MBA class today, so my time is constrained, and I'm building soft slant backs again, and last but not least, prepping for an October wedding (my first, and hopefully last).
Just to put my timeline in perspective.
But we need the...
Those Military Guys advertise here and have a 24VB license plate bracket with a light. I broke the light, backing against a tree for a trail brake, but I was able to replace it.
As noted, lots of options!

I can work with that! Looks great. Many thanks gringeltaube. It will probably be Sunday before I can try again, but I'll see about refining my pattern. I also have a heavy-duty rollover foot now to sew a nice thick seam on the outside edges of the fabric.
I believe I will go ahead and buy a...
When I pulled my air filter restriction gauge to run a pyrometer I just tied it up and let it dangle behind the dash. It still works, I just have to get down and twist my head to look at it.

I've been considering the same approach, but thankfully haven't found a donor engine. I say thankfully because the last thing I need is another project and a torn down V8 taking up space in my garage.
Still, if you do it, please document it. It might make it more approachable for others like...
I've still got mine in the garage collecting dust. Will PM you about it. Of course, now that it's radio-related, it's worth its weight in gold... Too bad it's such lightweight aluminum...;)

Agreed, and thanks. My ride had a lot of antenna and radio wires cut out of it when it arrived, so it makes sense that would be there for protection of the antenna wires as they head aft.

Not sure. Had one in my HMMWV. The rear curtain lower hold downs were clipped to it, but I can clip them elsewhere. I took mine out so I could slide things in the bed farther/easier.

Woof! That does sound bad. I hope it's something readily repairable. Please keep us posted. Some pictures after those parts come off would be interesting too.
