    m211 parts

Again, I didn't notice the date of the original post. At least we can all take comfort in the fact that we are supporting the Chinese Military, even if not our own!

    m211 parts

With a backwards shift pattern, the transmission is likely from a CCKW, not foreign. The stock transfer case is a single speed, low range was in the hydramatic trans. Don't know what you're lookin' to do with the parts, but the GMC's are a whole different animal than the M35.

    Cold rivets

Jones Has it figured out. When rivets are installed properly, they expand in the hole to make a pressure fit to the point that a BFH will just wear you out. By drilling or cutting with a torch, the rivet will lose its grip and be easily punched out. As stated, be carefull not to make a slot in...

    Wreckerman screwed the pooch

Glad nobody was hurt, but it was clearly Elmo's fault. Our possums up here in the north are always trying to be wheel chocks. They just can't figure out that it's a bad idea to chock a wheel at 60 mph!

5 ton axle bearings and seals part# x-reference?

Those bearing numbers should be the same for the M39 and M800 series trucks. Just did my front axle and the best price I found for the bearings was thru the local Peterbilt dealer route man. Got the seals and silicone boots from A1 Army surplus.

Fuller 9 spds and Mack engines?

It depends on what mack engine he's selling, but if you're up to the work, I'd say do the full swap. The multifuel can't even come close to touching a mack for power, torque, and longevity. Quite a few of the old macks had straight 5 speeds in them and would lug all day long with no problems.

    A Conundrum

If it was a display piece, why did they bother changing engines? And why would you say it has no engine? Does it run? What do you plan to use it for? If it's just a toy, there's not really a whole lot of difference between the deuce and 5 ton engines. If the equipment is in good shape, I'd say...
