I would be game to watch a transmission filter ease through the drain plug hole......Why most A/T pans don't have the drain hole.......one usually changes the fluid and filter together at certain intervals......Maybe the Military have the drain hole/plug so in a field situation if one gets water...
My line number in the TM has it as a A13 which doesn't come equipt.....also has no water fording provisions either.....It was used in an Avn Co probably hauling parts to the flight line
I replaced the large flexible duct from the cab heater to plenum in preparation for inclement weather.......next I was hoping to find a Trans filter/gasket kit to change trans filter and oil (3L80)......
Took it out to supper last night.....after I came out later there was a red civilian jeep parked right next to the Humvee, no other vehicles in the parking lot......Maybe it wanted some off road to rub off on it....today I replaced the fuel gauge.....that's one problem done.....
Cranked and started my M998a1 and brought it up to 200' jumped in and took it for a run the temp rose up and I suddenly found out the fan wasn't stuck on when it kicked in with a roar.......like they said, you'll know when it kicks on.....dropped the temp down and went into free wheel....got...
I had a Tractor way back when and when I went some where or shut down for the day I would turn the steering wheel all the way over in one direction then run the chain through the steering wheel......
I removed the tarp jumped in the seat, fired her up and drove to the restaurant.....no plates or registration, just a bumper number.....nobody bat an eye in this army town sure felt good......
