The tunnel decking mentioned is good, and I have noticed an improvement in my rig since I installed the one TheCaptain gave me. It is an official mod, so you can find the patterns if you look I'm sure. Our HMMWVs came from very different states, and his deck screwed into my ride with the exact...
Looks good. The NSN stamped on the bracket is for the HMMWV pioneer tool tray with the extensions and all that. Yours doesn't have them. Did you cut them off or is it a different kit/NSN?
I picked up a Deuce tool tray, which should bolt up if I make some brackets, though it will be crowding...
Thanks Cabell, I'll check out the Lodge's arrangements. My primary plan will be to find someone in that nearby field that will trade horse time for Hmmwv time...

Ditto on the good time and welcoming folks. My son and I attended last year, our first time, and are coming back. If you can make it, you will enjoy it.

Turned my M116A3 into a flatbed. Courtesy of a large shipping pallet a local business listed for free on Craigslist. Not pretty, but it will work and enable me to use it for the upcoming Graves Mountain Rally. It will be nice to not have to transfer belongings and supplies between the tent...
Agreed, it is very nice. You could go whole-hog and throw in some more brass and elegant fittings and you'll have something Steampunk and Jules Verne fans would be proud to drive :-)

The decking is a mod from the service. I don't know what the Army says it's for, but from my perspective it makes stowage easier and it also relieves knees from the bumps and bruises when crawling around in the interior. I could never crawl from one side to the next without banging a knee on...
Go for the easy fix first. Unplug and replug all connections, especially the big screwed on connection on the back of the light control panel.
Sounds more like loose connections and bad fittings than anything else. I also have a 1987 and my brake light switch was bad. Found another quickly...
Moved the license plate holder out of the way of the pintle hitch, mounted the USB and voltmeter and installed the decking TheCaptain gave me. Am going to be helping him Sunday w idler arm replacement. Wheeee!

I have a 24V USB power node to mount and several other PMS items to complete before driving to the Graves Mountain Rally end of the month. The USB power supply has an internal voltmeter, which will be interesting. It is off Amazon, and the last USB p/s I bought didn't last long. I hope this...
Started in earnest on the half door frames I sourced from Hawkman. Cleaned up the frames w wire wheel and evened out the corners. Then sprayed with a rust reformer primer I've never used before. Hopefully it works. They get painted OD tonight, and I'll begin covering later this week. I...
Started making some half doors. Sourced the empty frames from Hawkman. Good fellow to do business with. More details on the process in my HMMWV's thread.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Thank you very much for sharing the solution in case someone else has this same problem. That's why we are all here.

Thanks for the reminder Cabell, will get the registrations sent this week.
If anyone is interested, I have two HMMWV front passenger seat back frames I can bring, $10ea, NSN 2540-01-184-6602
PM me if interested.

I second the recommendation to pull the gauge cluster panel out for a peek, or perhaps technically NormB is seconding my recommendation to peel behind there. Your wiring does look cleaner than some. It's a small effort to disconnect and reconnect the light panel plug (unscrews, then pull) and...
