Thanks wreckerman, it looks like you have to unbolt the cover plate that the breather tube that runs through the boot is on. That might let the breather tube come off with the boot to keep from ripping it. Right now I have redneck fixed it by filling the rip with a gas resistant sealer we use...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Best ways to Research your Deuce
Bumper numbers, or Unit numbers show usually 4 things in them; (from left to right)
1. Major Command
2. Intermediate command
3. Unit or Activity
4. Vehicles order of march
From these numbers it can be determined what was the unit it served with...
I don't have the camera on me right at the moment, but it is the black rubber dog legged shaped piece that runs from the outlet on the air filter canister up to the carb. It then screws to the bell of the carb with 2 little screws. When I was looking through all your pics about reverse...
The P.O. ripped the rubber intake boot on my 4a084 that's in the chemical shelter trailer. This is the boot that runs from the air cleaner to the carb. Anyone have one or know where to get one? I tried Saturn when I bought some other parts for it to get it running but they didn't have any...
Yep, as of this time there is no decent sized scale model of the M37. The Skybow truck may at some point be made by AFV Club but it is not going to be very soon. There is also no model of an M715, but rumor has it that one of the specailty resin companies is working on one for sometime this...
For those that are planning on coming, please help me out by filling out an entry form so I can get started on making the info sheets that we pass out to hang in the windshields. This lets the people know what type of vehicle they are looking at and what number it is to vote on for the public...
I've never seen a bridge "plate" on one. Only on vehicles have I ever seen a plate. But I've seen bridgewieght markings on the front curb side. For my trailer which has 60's era markings on it I will mark it with a yellow circle with a black number in it. I just wanted to know the approprite...
Lee, are you going to Clare? If so bring me one with you and I'll pick it up there from you. I was going to grab one from you there last year, but just never caught up with you because I could not stay very long.
It's getting closer, just about 6 weeks away. For anyone who's coming but wants to camp out, I have 20 acres just two minutes from the show site that would be open for anyone who would like to primitive camp. It has a nice open area with easy acess for larger vehicles. Plus maybe we could all...
Anyone know the bridgeweight class of the 105 trailers? I would like to add it to the 105 that my M51 shelter is mounted to. Also what would be the combined for the front of the deuce when I have the trailer on?
Not yet, the magneto was missing from the motor so I ordered a new one from Saturn Surplus along with new plugs and a few items. When I got the new magneto it said to remove the drive gear from the old one. Since I don't have the old magneto I didn't have the gear. Saturn has one on the way...
While I have been waiting on a few replacement parts to arrive from a Surplus Dealer for the 4a084 motor in the M51 shelter trailer, I have found some other interesting things. The shelter unit and the generator all seem to be dated from 1968. But the marking on the trailer seemed to indecate...
I see that the valve levers on the end are the older stamped steel ones. Mile Marker has new cast T handle ones that work much better and will swap right on. You can get them right from Mile Marker as replacement parts.
Now we found a new name for Wreckerman. I think we should start to call him "Al Bundy".
I sand blasted it off the frame on my deuce. It takes a lot of effort to get it off.
