dont get upset...... right now i have one dash light, a non working battery meter. a tire out of alignment, and a leaking input seal in the transmission......... so far everything is normal i just picked it up a few days ago.......aua
as for the headlight dimmer when you take the two bolts out...
ahhhh......... Kuwait they just dont make sand like that just anywhere. Pretty much from Diwaniya south down Tampa its a nasty talcom powder mess of moondust.
before you do that there was a post a few days ago about adding some epsom salt to a weak battery to bring it back to life. Ive never tried it but it would be a great time to try it now since you are probably going to be buying a battery anyway.
Ive used everything from Walmart batteries to...
ive heard about Gama Goaus starting with a stiff breeze from other posting on this board. I have pull started mine after the magnetic switch to the starter failed. I had it running in about 5 feet from an easy roll. Started like a charm
:ditto:
Napa filter will probably be in stock but they will have to order the housing.
55.00 for filter and housing but you will need a 1"Npt thread to 3/8"Barb which you can get at home depot
man i would love to move back to Cali..... lived in SO Cal when i was in the Marines. If it wasnt for the bad gun laws, high taxes, and silly people I would but you cannot beat it for scenery. If you have ever been to Idyllwyld Ca east of Hemet its kinda like a smaller closer version. I used to...
i used to do decorative boat paddles when i was a recon marine. If you use a heavy wire like a clothes hanger type you can use it like a rib and alternate the rap around it giving you something to hold on to.
Thanks for the posting ive never thought about doing it to a steering wheel
Ive only had one CUCV that didnt have some sort of charging issue. If you get in the search fuction I think everything you are discribing will be covered. In fact you probably dont even need to search just read about the first thirty or so postings in the cucv forum and it will be covered most...
are you sure they werent just telling you that about the dustpan and put it in a ziplock just to make you feel better about working around the stuff in an environment where you couldnt get away from it.....aka "a boat/submarine"
kinda reminds me of the civil defense ads showing kids getting...
with weather like that i would think its a combination of gelling fuel and/or a clogged filter. Im sure if your CUCV is like everyone elses it was probably filled last with summer diesel instead of winter blend. I dont think that was all of your problems but im sure it contributed. When you...
So the "R" terminal can be wired to a small lawnmower (smaller) type battery for an accessory plug maybe? Thats neat worth doing the changeover IMHO.
Thanks for the link.....
I have used the autozone altenator on several vehicles and they all bolted onto the back of the case. Ive never had an issue. Yeap firewall drivers side is where i had my problems. Two post bridge connection with a bunch of hotwires coming from it.
i just looked at them too and cant find anything about it in either the -20 or -34. Its possible that mine is just a backup light switch and I did something while I was messing with the wiring harness but mine didnt do anything on until I fixed the tab. Starts fine now though.
Ill keep...
most of them are the same switch (neutral safety/Backup light)on the civilian models. I couldnt find the switch described in the TM's but i ws in the starting section of the wiring diagram. Are they both on the military model or does the military one not have it there.
im not sure about your current problem but i had a simlar issue with the GEN1 light dimming and then running very low voltage ended up being the electrical connection on the firewall beside the glowplug relay. The hotwire coming from altenator wasnt making enough of a connection to get back to...
