Lifting rear spring pack to service trunnion

Did any bolts break off in the trunion bearing cover? One or 2 of those usually break too.

Lifting rear spring pack to service trunnion

Those solid “bearings” should have a spiral groove on them - the spiral channel / groove is supposed to let the grease ooze in to the entire bearingYou should knock out the cups (races) and replace them too. I bet they’re pitted something wicked. If my memory is correct, the Army did away...

Lifting rear spring pack to service trunnion

Were your trunion bearings solid cones or roller bearings? Those bearings should be the same as the wheels. Same for that inner trunion seal.

    M35A3 Smoking Alterntor

Check if the pulley is the correct one. You would be surprised at how many military mechanics will swap out a alternator/generator and use the wrong pulley causing it to under-drive or over-drive the alternator/generator.

M151 carburetor rebuild - Brooks Engine service

I see that the Army had a couple of different carb models it used. I only ever saw that Zenith being used. It looks like there are even modern replacement available.

M151 carburetor rebuild - Brooks Engine service

Those carbs were notoriously a PITA. I found that the Venturi would be a little loose. If you stuck your middle finger into the carb, while the motor was running, with your hand from the top so that your finger curled up, that flat spot disappeared. You could also feel that piece was loose...

Alternator V-Belts rattling. Should I replace?

That doesn’t look bad to me. Belts will deflect when under tension & they don’t deflect in unison. There’s a few ways to check belt tension - which will tell if one belt is looser than the other. 1) A belt tension tool 2) Straight edge and ruler. 3) String & ruler or tension gauge...

Alternator V-Belts rattling. Should I replace?

What do the belts turn? Check to make sure whatever they turn (alt / gen, water pump, PS pump) that the device is properly mounted and the outer pulley isn’t pointed inboard or outboard a bit. If the alt / gen (whatever) isn’t square or true then one belt will be tighter than another.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Please keep us, me, posted in your progress with it. I’m not a big A/C lover but it’s nice to have it when you really need it.

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

Is that A/C set up “plug & play” or did you have to make a harness?

Flip a switch to use gas?

No flames. They’re exaggerating BIG time. We’ve run a variety of fuels along the DF & JP lines include JP8.

    Mep-004 making no electric

I need to clarify something. When you say it ‘makes no electric’ do you mean the generator does not put out of the engine alternator is not putting out?
