You do need to change ends or narrow the plug spade. I carefully grind the blade narrower and use the original harness. Works fine for me. Tom

Put a 15/16 deep socket and long ratchet on the front crankshaft balancer bolt. Turn clockwise and see if you hear a clunk then rotate? If that's what it does then try and restart it. Sometime the starter bendix will stick in the flywheel. This is assuming your Batteries are up to the task. Tom
