    10 Ton M125 Repaint

Glad to see you're back at work on that beast.... Can't wait to see it finished!

    m1008 Engine mystery

New lift pump didn't change anything for me. I ordered the last pump base assembly from the seller Wallew posted.... Hopefully that does it!

Need some help with an oil leak.

Wow, I didn't know that. Hopefully I'll never get (have) to confirm that for myself! Although for this oil leak the fix becomes simple.... Balancer grooved? Replace balancer.

M1008 loadout in Barstow - need IGN key!

Hey Dave, Dave Walker (Walker Auto & Truck Wrecking) in Hesperia may have spare keys he'd sell, did you try him yet? 760-244-8060 If he doesn't have one, you're welcome to copy mine.... Either way we'll get you a key before Wednesday. Jon

    m818 mack

Personally I think it would be more fun to have the rarer M52A1 rather than an M818....

    Fall Camp Dirtbag

I bet YOU could hear it leak down that fast, but my ears are shot.... Softly hissing air does not overcome the constant ringing. :(

Need some help with an oil leak.

For the worn shaft sealing surface, I'm surprised nobody recommended using a Speedi-Sleeve to cover up the grooved area.... It would likely be a nice permanent repair and much better than tearing the engine apart! Speedi-Sleeve shaft repair kits As for leaking fuel into the oil, there's really...

    Lugs OVERTIGHTENED

Bigger wrench then. With 450 ft.lbs. as the correct torque for tightening the nuts, the break-away torque for removing them could easily exceed the capacity of your 750 ft.lb wrench. Personally I consider Harbor Freight's 1,200 ft.lb. 1" wrench the minimum I would trust to reliably remove any...

    Fall Camp Dirtbag

This will be my deuce's last trip before I tear into some projects on it.... I was greasing all 300 zerk fittings a couple weeks ago when I noticed quite a bit of pinion shaft slop on my center axle. (Jim, this may be the popping noise we heard when I was backing up...) Hopefully I can just...

    Lugs OVERTIGHTENED

My HF 1" impact has 1,600 ft.lbs. of torque and tore the threads right off one of my lug nuts that was rusted on.... It will also damage threads if you tighten them too much. So I agree with Will.... You need more air and/or a bigger wrench! When I use mine with the deuce's air system I use a...

    m1008 Engine mystery

I'd like to know where to check for the glass ball too.... I'm also going to replace my lift pump, I already bought a new one. Where are the normal places to check the filter housing for leaks? Are there o-rings to check and replace? My M1009 cranks for about 8 seconds if it's sat for more...

    M-52A2 spin on oil filters?

The original filter housings are held on with a bolt, you remove the housing, discard the element inside, clean the housing and install a new element. Spin-ons are faster, more convenient, less messy and also have the advantage of an anti-drainback valve in them to help speed oil pressure upon...

Condition Code HX on a Mule

I thought a mule had 14 horses?

    battery question

Oh.... Well, I'd check fuses, and there's a few relays that could be bad too... Time to go through the troubleshooting manual!

    No one's m35a3

Glad you finally got it home! In the end, shipping was probably cheaper, because your estimation of the cost of driving would probably have been exceeded one way or another. It would have been a great adventure though... I just saw this... You're a genius, Kenny!

    #2 alternator light

I've rebuilt some alternators, the troubleshooting section of the Delco rebuild manual I have (civilian) says that flickering alt. light is usually due to worn or dirty/stuck slip ring brushes. My favorite alternators have brushes that can be easily removed for inspection, cleaning or...

    battery question

The gen2 light MUST come on when you turn the ignition on and go out when you start the truck.... If not, you are not charging. There is a 99% chance that your gen2 alternator is bad, my M1009 did the exact same thing as yours and replacing my gen2 alt. fixed it. Regards, Jon

    Miramar Air Show 10.01.2010

Here's a few pics I took with my phone... My girlfriend took more / better pictures but I haven't gotten them from her yet... At first, I cringed at the thought of a ton of kids touching and crawling through my truck all day, but I realized they couldn't hurt it, and after a little while I...

    Miramar Air Show 10.01.2010

Here's a video Jim (TheRecorder) made of our trip to (at, really) the Miramar Air Show. We had a blast, it's a shame more people weren't interested or able to go with us. The Air Show staff treated us really well... VIP treatment really - access to the pilots cabana, free food, free fuel (they...
