    Bobbed with shortened original bed?

I really like the looks of the bobbed trucks, but can't spend much these days. So I'm trying to figure out how to make a strong/safe bobber at minimum cost. I have a 105 frame with good springs, & I can get a running Deuce fairly cheap. Is it because of using the 105 springs that mount on the...

    Bobbed with shortened original bed?

Did someone on here bob a Deuce using a shortened original bed? I wonder how it works out. What's the advantage of using a trailer bed?

    M/C cap gasket

If the sealing surfaces on the cap & master cylinder are reasonably smooth, a simple "o" ring works fine. I think the original type copper gaskets are available at NAPA.

Help!! need replacement lunette for M101A1

It really shouldn't be that hard to repair. As mentioned above, judicious use of a file and/or a hacksaw blade should do the trick. I know from experience, as I had to beat the crap out of mine to get it out.

    How to preserve tarp cover

Repeat -- If it's actually vinyl, there are a lot of vinyl preservatives out there. I don't know if they are really any good. I used to get low-luster Armor All, but haven't seen it lately. I'm just guessing it probably helped some.

    How to preserve tarp cover

If it is in fact canvas, not vinyl, "Canvak" from Cabella's works well as a water-repellant/preservative. But canvas left out in the sun is still going to deteriorate in a very few years. I'd cover it with a silver tarp if I were you. If it's actually vinyl, there are a lot of vinyl...

    24 volt regulated power supply

aboonski, That power supply will be handy to have for light loads. Keep in mind, that you can always wire two 12 volt power supplies in series if you need more amperage. If they are different amperages, you will get the output amps of the lower rated unit. A good source for 12 volt power...

Why GL Deuces have no Brakes

You're right Stumps. I forgot all about those stamped metal "expanders". I've got you beat on "time turning wrenches", but you win on memory. Eric

Why GL Deuces have no Brakes

Not trying to argue, but the master cylinder shouldn't have a "one way" vent on it. Air has to be able to get in & out. And I'm not at all sure the shape of the springs means anything. We used an awful lot of the so-called "wrong" springs for a long time.

fat guy in a little truck

For a long trip, I removed the seat back & replaced it with heavy cardboard. Actually worked quite well. Gave me another 2-3 inches of room. I'll make something more permanent when I get time. I'm thinking of 3/8 plywood, scored from the back side, then fitted to a wood form.

    Trailer plug

A friend has an M38A1 & an M416 trailer. The M38 has a trailer plug socket that is a different pattern than the plug on the trailer. The plug on the trailer matches the socket on my Deuces. It looks to me as though it would be easiest to change the plug on the trailer, rather than the Jeep's...
