    M-818 License Plates in Indiana

Historic vehicle registration is the way to go. Take to DMV: 1. Title 2. Three pictures of the truck's numbers. Doesn't matter where the numbers are, as long as they're painted-on in contrasting color. I use one inside each door & one inside tool box door. 3. Inspection form signed by STATE...

    Deuces hard on asphalt?

Deuces, original 900-20 duals or single 1100s, don't damage the asphalt outside my shop. The M813 with 1400-20 Michelins is a different story. Left parked in a sunny area for several days, the tires sunk about 3/8 of an inch into the blacktop. PITA, as the wheels on my creeper catch in the...

    M35A2 Wheel Bearing Issue

I had to use a torch on mine. I used oxy/acetylene with a small tip & heated a small area real quick. Bearing popped off pretty easily. I then spent over 2 hours using emery cloth to remove the the residue from the bearing, fused to the spindle. That stuff was HARD!

    pictures from Iwo 1945

Somewhere, I have some pictures my Dad took on Iwo. Marines weren't supposed to have personal cameras, but Dad took one from a Jap who no longer needed it. He got a Navy photographer to develop the negatives, then had them printed when he got home. He turned 21 on Iwo. I turned 21 in 'Nam. He...

Hydraulic Oil, can you use it is fuel?

Dip a piece of cardboard in it & hold it to a flame. If it burns, it's fuel! My trucks love that kind of stuff. I do filter to 1 micron though.

What local tire shop agreed to do them? Did they quote a price? I'm just south of you in Knox. Thanks, Eric

    Shear Pins AGAIN?

I tried contacting Gene through "truks@cs.quik.com", which I found with a Google search. Came back "user unknown". Still looking for pins. Anyone with a source they will share? Or if you have just a few to sell, PM me please. I wonder how the shear strength of brass would compare to aluminum...

    Shear Pins AGAIN?

There has been a LOT of discussion on shear pins. Most of it fairly old. I need to get some, and I'm wondering if anyone has found any recently, that appear to be the "correct" aluminum pins. Thanks! Eric

Found this in an April 1945 Popular Mechanics magazine! I thought the Mule was a 1960's design.
