Sometimes even GL can't tell the manufacturer or year, just read the descriptions. As far as interchangability of parts, the government sets the standards and deminsions and gives the design to the lowest bidder. That's just the way it's done.2cents:roll:
I don't have a CUCV but on my civy Blazer you only have to pull the bolt out of the motor mound and jack up the engine to get clearance to work. You will have to remove the upper part of the motor mount and personally I would plut the block heater in instead of the freeze plug. Your milage may...
That's dedication getting up in the middle of the night. I would have waited till the next morning and started it up to blow it out before covering it it were close. Mine is 100 miles away so I cover it before I leave each time. I just discovered the j pipe on my M54a2 has a hole in it...
They need some type of harder material for the poppet valves instead of rubber. The seat cuts into the rubber too easily, since you drive in a forward gear most of the time you lose the forward valve first. Hence the rear engagement only syndrome. I've been playing with mine for several years...
Maybe trenches where the graphite blocks thrown out from the explosion were buried? I've heard they were buried but I have no idea where.
I've heard horror stories of the chopper pilots that dropped concrete, boron, and lead on the burning pile in the early days of the disaster knowing they...
I guess it's because I'm old but most of my torque wrenches are the beam type. I didn't even own a "clicker" until about a year ago, I needed an inch pound in a tight place so I broke down and got one. One advantage of the beam type is they are so long you don't have to work so hard to get the...
I've bought a few things from Ted and was comrortable with his prices. Maybe what he aught go do is give guided tours to all us droolers, make a few bucks that way.
My '80 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4 came from the factory with those. I'm pretty sure there were similar ones on Ford 3/4 tonners, they had a slightly larger center hole.
For what it worth I have both paper and CD manuals for my trucks. I prefer the manuals for just browsing and when I need to work on something I pop in the CD and print just the pages relating to what I'm working on. That keeps the manuals clean.2cents:roll:
First off I don't have a deuce, however I had the same problem with my 5 ton dump when I first got it. Have you checked the gear/bearing box on the winch? I found the ones on mine MT when I checked them the first time. After I filled them and ran the winch in and out a couple of times and it...
Welcome to the site. Green machines show up everywhere here in MO, they seem to attract each other. I've been hearing about the "guy" in West Plains for years but have never been able to find him. I'm beginning to think he's an urban legend.
I've used my backhoe to break beads. Swing the boom all the way to one side and brace the tire against the tire/outrigger, that way you don't have to chase it all around the yard digging it up.2cents
Compression fittings can only be tightened to a certain point, then the nut bottoms and it won't tighten any more. Adding an O ring might work for a while but it's not a permanent fix.
