Unless you're building a trailer queen there's no point in spending all that money on the exact tank. Almost any S10 gas tank will fit with minor filler adaptation.
:ditto:I love them, I would pay a lot to see a living breathing one. Not to put down any others I like the P 51 and P38, but the Corsair just does it for me.
My M51A2 dump has it on the right front fender just below the exhaust cutout, just CARC by itself. The DTC 8606 has it on the right front fender also,

There was a thread bout this very subject a while back, I think last summer, I couldn't find it can't remembe the exact wording. There is a sealed slide valve the right size to cut off the air between the air filter and intake. It was stainless steel and cable operated. Maybe someone else...
I have broken speedometer cable I use for things like this. I chuck up the good end in my battery drill and use the frayed end like a roto rooter to clean out plugged passages. Now if you can just find an old speedo cable.
Know how you feel about running over your antifreeze, I've done things...
Don't want to hijack the thread, but on the subject of data plates does anyone have an idea of what you can do when the data plate is gone. Not a military trailer although I bought it at a GSA auction the same time I got my M37. In spite of my feeble attempts to make it look military in...
That's a good idea, I'll check that out. The people at HD told me they stopped carrying phosphoric acid because it is too dangerous, doesn't hold up because muratic acid is much more reactive and gives off chlorine too boot, very dangerous in a confined area.:cookoo::roll:
Note: muratic acid will eat steel while phosphoric won't. Also muratic give off chlorine gas, bad news. I haven't been able to find phosphoric acid her in STL for over a year, Home Depots here stopped carring it. You might have luck a stores carrying ceramic or other hard tile.
We used to have a NAPA distribution center here in St Louis that had a lot of old timers but they sold the site and it's a hotel now. They built a new store in the area but I don't think it's a shipping center, way smaller and came with new people that can only work a computer.
Next time I...
I'm not sure why it doesn't work right. When I put the new shoes on I took everything off and cleaned it up and even put on new springs even though the old one seemed OK. I thought the drum itself might be worn down, but shouldn't the readjustment compensate for that? I don't know how thick...
:ditto:I gotta agree with him, load chains are for just that thing not pulling. I've seen load chains used for pulling break and go right through the back of the cab, if you get in the way it will go through you too.
I've got new parking brake shoes and adjusted per the manual, but my parking brake won't hold my 5 ton on any kind of grade even empty. I've never tried to stop the truck with the parking brake, but I have pulled out without releasing it and if the handle hadn't been poling me in the butt I...
I'm sorry but I can't help I can't stop myself, "and then we got bored." Sounds like the lead in to a Jeff Foxworthy joke.roflroflrofl I shouldn't talk, I hung my M51A2w/w up to the axles in the mud one time and to make a long story shore, I hung it up in April and didn't get it out till June...
You also have to consider who is rating the chain, if you're down at Harbor Freight don't pay attention to the ratings. You really should consider wire rope for recovery use.2cents
