I've actually got a Mico Lock on my '80 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4 and it works great. Put it on mainly for winching. I guess I was so focused on adding an additional system to the 5 ton I just hadn't thought in that direction. I think it's time for some research along that line. I've been watching...
I've been looking at a pinion brake for several years without much progress. I think you're kidding yourself if you think it going to help if you have a braking issue. A single disc on the pinion isn't going to add enough additional braking surface, it will flame out quickly.2cents

Is the spelter what connects the wire rope to the chain lead? I ask because I pulled the end off the cable on my 5 ton winching logs up a hill. I couldn't locate the information on the connector so I went with a civi wedge lock type connector and a Crosby clamp for the 5/8" cable. Couple of...
You better be careful, you're gonna get hollered on. Seriously what would it cost to rebuild an IP? The only price I ever heard about was the injector punp on a John Deere 4 cylinder backhoe at about $750. Course everything JD costs more, but remember, "Nothing burns like a Deere."
Thanks! That's more information than I had. They appear to be in good shape the flux is dry and not flaky. It just so happens I have a huge old vise with a cracked base and a DC welder made from an old aircraft genorator. Might as well give it a try and see what happens.
Here's a different one, my DTC 8606 forklift has CARC paint on it just looks like normal camo. There is a stencil on the right front fender that states:
WDCARC
01/05
I was told that meant it was painted with the water based CARC in January of 05. Last winter it started popping paint in...
I don't pay much attention on the classifieds mainly because it takes too long to page through. I consider it useless without a search function. Also the few I responded to never replied to messages. Maybe SS has grown too large and cumbersome to be usefull anymore and it's time to move...
If you can cool off long enough, go back and read the starting post. He specifically asked for information from those that had actually used the product and their personal results and opinions. I don't think a bunch of amatures with unknown qualifications playing in their basement fit that...
:snopes check:I'm always amazed at some of the odd things that turn up on the internet.
Number one: just exactly who is "Bob the oil Guy" that works for an oil company, apparently his only qualification? Maybe he worked the register down at the local gas station.
Number two: under what...
Do you have at good drivers door with glass? Some idiot stole the glass out of my M54's door. I say idiot because, believe it or not, he took the door apart and took the guts and glass instead of pulling the hinge bolts and taking the whole door. I guess it would have given me more...
The show up all the time on GSA state auctions. When they convert trucks for rural fire departments and forestry service they sell them as scrap. I've seen some really nice ones sold here in Missouri for scrap prices. Check your state surplus sites on GSA.
I've used a gallon in my crankcase and roughly 10% in the trans and t-case since I got my M51A2 in 2002. No leaks or problems so far. I guess I do use Lucas in my fuel too since I'm running 100% WMO for fuel.
