    Non-Skid finish on body parts

Both of my 5 tonners have it mised with the military paint. I'm wishing the deck of my forklift had it too, I spilled diesel fuel the other day then slipped in it and like to broke my back. When I pait it non slip will be added for sure.

    neutralizing muriatic acid

Full strength Muratic acid will also remove good metal in addition to the rust, it's very aggressive. I use soda ash to neutralize any acid I use, it's available at swimming pool suppliers. It's used to adjust the PH in pools, to raise it.2cents Takes a lot less than bicarb to do the same job.

    on fender air cleaner

Just a stray thought, if you can move it outboard any when you mount it, that would surely help with opening the inside clamp. On my 5 ton I have a hard time poping the inside clamp to clean the airfilter, any additional clearance would help to open it. That would be a plus if you mounted it...

    on fender air cleaner

Hmmm . . . Mine doesn't have a brace on my M51A2, maybe that's why my fender is sagging about 1". I've been thinking of puttin a brace on it.

    Few Pics of the deuce

Just a thought, but wouldn't it be easier to mount the 5 ton air cleaner reversed with the intake in the front? Seems to me it would be easier to hook up to the original air intake.

Try Using U-Ship to Move MVs

I've used Uship for short hauls instate a couple of times with good results. Never had anything moved interstate though.

    Registering a Bobbed Deuce.

I've wondered about that too. Also what about insurance on a modified vehicle? I don't plan on bobbing anything, but never say never.

    Dual 14R20 on 5 ton

I like the looks of those big tires, but I have enough trouble climbing into my M51A2 with 1100s. It's a bitch gettin' old.

Entwistle DTC 8606 Rough Terrain Forklift

Know what you're going through, I've been looking for a parts machine for over a year. I needed an air tank(wound up using a trailer airtank and mounting it on the hood), air conpressor(found out it's a common one used on big rigs) and I just bent my side shift shaft myself(just starting to...

US to transfer HMMWVS to Iraq

I never understood why anyone would pay what I would consider a grosely overpriced 3/4 ton Chevy truck with a weird body that I don't think even looks line a HUMVEE. Nuff said.

    Starter problem on DTC forklift

I stopped my my local big truck repair shop this morning and asked about the "starter protection repair" thing and they said they never heard of such a thing. I'm thinking I may have to figure out how to eliminate it. Now if I can just figure out how to do that. I still can't get it to start...

    Diy, cover your exhaust pipe

I've done that to my tractors, that works well. Where I part my 5 tonners(in the Ozarks of MO) it's on the side of a hill among the trees with the stack tilted just right to keep the rain out most of the time. A couple of weeks ago we had a hard 48 hour rain and I got to enjoy the stack of...

    Starter problem on DTC forklift

My DTC 8606 forklift stopped cranking the other day. I thought the item under the dashboard was a starter relay and that was the problem. After checking the manual wiring diagram what I thought was a starter relay turned out to be a "starter protection package". As near as I can figure from...

Single reservoir master cylinder on deuces ?

If someone ever figures it out maybe he could "anonymously" post a list of the parts he used to avoid liability. Just thinking, I sure would like to change over my two 5 tonners.

    Alcohol Evaporator, Block Heater etc.

The air system on my DTC 8606 forklift has the alcohol evaporator AFTER the compressor in the airline going to the wet side of the air tank. The thing is the manual doesn't say how to get the alcohol into the evaporator. There's a drain on the reservoir, but I can't find a cap or plug on the top.

Got my deuce yesterday - question about overheating

I'm having the same problem with the coolant temp and the oil temp on my DTC 8606 forklift. Do all the military systems use the same sensors for the 24 volt systems? Does anyone have a part # or a source for replacemtents?

    Do it urself bed liners????

Not familiar with Line-X myself, but I did do a small trailer with a wood deck that I haul my Cubs on with Herculiner. I used white oak boards that I air dried for two years in my basement(to take advantage of the conditioned air for drying). I gave the boards two coats of marine varnish...
