Per 86sa's suggestion I drilled off the rivet heads Sunday and took a look inside. I couldn't find an adjustment screw, and I think I know what those look like. That said, I cleaned up the muddy exterior and dusted off the dirty interior, and then screwed it back together. On my horn body...
Those Military Guys have them for a decent price. I bought extra for just the same eventuality as you describe.

I also thought to drill a 1/4" hole through the flat so I could slip a dogtag chain through it. Now I wear my Hmmwv...
Since some new carbide burrs came in the mail today, I decided to try again on that broken transmission pan bolt. After cutting on the base of the broken extractor for several minutes I gave up and tried getting at it from the top again. I found I could just see it if I opened the engine access...
Mine is shot. Barely actuates and sounds terrible when it does. My horn button is also shot. Only works some of the time.
I see a member with some horn buttons here. But I don't see any horns for sale.
There are a lot of threads here about horns for deuces, but not much about the Humvee...
Thanks RWH. I'll see about a new half shaft. I'd rather replace than wonder. Then I will keep the take off as a spare. I will still take a good hard look at that wheel bearing. If all the other control arms have a lower grease fitting, that makes me wonder if that Bearing is still original. I...
Long time between updates. I've posted several small accomplishments to the "what have you done lately" thread instead of here.
I've completed the greasing as of today. I'll do the gp oil points this weekend.
My my plan to take this coming Thursday off and tear off the right front hub and...
Replaced the windshield wipers.
Pro-tip, while there are several sources of 11" heavy duty flat windshield wipers, NAPA, Trico, and others, as well as online auction vendors, the price varies and everyone wants shipping charges... except NAPA.
The hang up is that NAPA part 60-1150 is "out of...
Welcome to the fold. Time to get busy on the TMs and parts references.
That wiring does look odd. My HMMWV has plenty of cut wires, from removed equipment, but nothing like that.
You'll figure it out I'm sure. If the taped off wires have little metal tags on them, you should be able to look...
Got down and dirty with a grease gun and hit every zerk fitting. Rides smoother and a touch quieter.
Also replaced some of the bolts on the mirrors so I could angle them more. I have the seat set high, and could not see very far behind me without ducking my head. Now can drive a little more...
Drove my HMMWV to work for the first time, longest distance driven so far (10mi). Coworkers are coming round the parking lot after lunch to have a lookie-loo.
Weekend will be spent on further maintenance and LO items.

x-box tanning oil, I like that.
If you apply enough oil to the x-box, I think that would solve the problem, partly...
I ration my son's Wii time, for sure. He's pretty good about being interested in reading or being outside as well. He also eats broccoli. Something's wrong with him...
Took her for her first joyride last night! Gassed (well, dieseled) up along the way. Pulling into a gas station in a HMMWV is a surefire conversation starter.
She ran pretty well, and nothing fell off that I couldn't do without. I was startled the first couple of times the cooling fan kicked...
Here is another wider shot. I drilled new holes in the top of the TMG supplied bracket, putting the mounting holes in the center of the width of the bracket. This allowed me to mount the bracket a little farther back from the surface. This let me nest the plate just behind the pad eye.
