When the power and 6ft. ext. is all the way out on the 819, there is almost no noticable deflection. I think some commercial operators have overloaded that boom. That 246 looks like it can be restored if someone wants a project. I wonder what their production numbers were?

For a rebuild my brother got one for his M819 from CME Armature in FL. Pricey (whadya gonna do?) and took a gazillion years of back and forth on the phone and email just to get the order in. If you want a "new" unit over a takeout I would use them otherwise, find someone else that will hassle...

I don't think anyone makes any repro patch panels/sections for Deuces/5ton at this time due to the availibility of parts trucks. I guess your only choices are to swap entire components or learn or pay to have the areas repaired. Maybe we'll bring the welder/generator to RC this year :wink: I...

I already had a leftover plate of 1/2" thk. laying around. Yes it would have been better to use a 1" thk. instead. I took two 1/2" and cut them out and welded the perimeters. The gouges in the middle are slots I torched in one of the plates so that they could be plug welded. Probably not...
