i see you as having a decent option in the running gear from a M1008. from the 6.2 diesel, auto transmission, and your spare NP205, and axles you would have a winner for very little money.
another route would be rockwell deuce axles but the higher gearing would be an issue with road speed.
there is a big write up on this at the M715Zone forum. sign up if your not a member already and do a search. its kinda a big thing over on that side of the house.

Oh sorry for the confusion i was answering the original posting, your 5 ton wont have any issues at all. or non that i can forsee anyway. I think it would be a great equipment trailer being how low it is. after pricing goosenecks for myself recently i will do whatever i can to stay away from...
glad you figured out what it was. Do you have the union sizes and plug size handy for when i need one and do a search here? Im sure its in the manuals somewhere but they are harder to find specifics in sometimes than it is to find an honest politician.
Was figuring it was a brake nothing else...
thats an awful lot of weight to be pulling for such a light truck. also it has flat ends which would make loading and unloading no fun at all. you would have to rig some sort of sideways ramp system and crab walk your way onto and off the trailer. Might be great for a backhoe where you can...
I have learned that you only have one life. That being said I think its a great idea.
Would you mind if i convoyed along from the miss river to the canadian border?
man i think you drove that 109 right by the house (dyersburg tennessee) just up hwy 45 from tupelo miss, glad you made it and got a good start on the truck(s). your right you just cant stop with one. Its just too much fun.:driver:
kind of the feeling ive gotten everytime ive gone to campbell. They have always been exceptionally helpful and friendly. I have nothing but good things to say about ft campbell and jacksonville (little rock) arkansas GL employees
didnt think about flat towing. I was just going to get a uhaul car hauler in oklahoma if it was needed. these just take the regular light tow bar dont they? the same ones they use for humvees? Probably would be about the same as a one way rental of a car trailer and im going to need one anyway...
I won two M-35's out of Wright Patterson and a CUCV out of Oklahoma. Ive never owned a deuce before and I'm really looking forward to getting to wrench on one finally. List member "Heavy" or Eric with Hotshot Transport is brokering the transportation from Dayton to the house in west tennessee...
when i was a flatbed hauler i carried the frames to those trucks in Portland. Thats pretty cool.
I saw it up until about 18,500 and then i stopped watching. cool truck though but made for working not hobby drivers. good on them too they have a good piece of machinery
yeah this liability thing is getting rediculous. If they are that butt hurt about it just make the guy picking his stuff up sign a waiver before giving assistance. If we have to hire wreckers and rollbacks everytime we go pick something up we are going to have to start bidding less. They are...
well done sir well done.... very fond of restification myself. I figured that we all bi***ed about it when we were in the service why should we have to put up with it out of our own vehicles
