I've seen log loaders made with frames on old cckws too. Wish I had a camera back then, they were actually pretty cool. It was amazing the loads they could carry. Sadly most went to scrap years ago.
I use one 275 pallet container for "ditry" oil as I call it. I gather my oil in 5 gallon containers from oil changes and pump it into that tank through my large Baldwin 20 micron filter.
I use the second 275 pallet container for "clean" oil storage. That is oil from the "dirty" tank using...
I have two of the 275 pallet tanks I got for free from work, we had many of them setting around from raw materials from Bayer in Germany. I wish now I'd gotten several more while I had the chance.
I have a few 55 gallon drums and a heating oil tank that I've never used. Don't know if the oil...
You mean like my '80 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4 pickup with an '89 Suburban 3/4 ton dirve train. I keep a list in the book that I keep milage and maintenance in.
Between the agreement with manufacturer not to bring them back to surplus and the government's desire that you buy a new economy car, forget about ever seeing them over here. They'll probably send the one over here over there.
The problem with the fiber type fillers is they use chopped hollow fiber fill thread. This leaves passages for moisture to wick through and allow rust to form on the metal underneath. It's really inportant to seal the surface before patching with fiberglass or any fiber containing filler. You...
My DTC 8606 forllift has WD CARC on it and rust pops up everywhere. Under the CARC is white paint, doesn't look like white lead but when it pops loose it rusts quickly. I'm no where near salt water.
I saw one of these years ago at a vehicle show at a local transportation museum here in St. Louis, MO. It was a dumptruck, while not perfectly restored more like a motor pool type, it was fantastic. The owner was headed to a Red Ball reenactment in France.
There was a Huey on GSA a few years back(5 as best as I remember) it looked pretty good, but stated not airworthy. I have no idea what it went for, I'm a ground hog.
Raybuck sells a roll of foil backed insulation. I used it to line the top of my '92 K1500 Blazer after I repaire the roof after my son rolled it over. I'm not sure how much the sound deadening is because the exhaust is under chasis, but it sure makes a difference in the air conditioning...
Is the 179" wheel base what the long bed 5 ton has? I saw one in Jefferson Citya couple of years ago at a state auction and it was really long. I wished I had bid on it later because it's the only one I've ever seen.
I don't have so much a problem with bobbing a deuce or 5 ton as much as putting huge tires on them. I have a hard time getting into my 5 ton with 1100X20s that I can't imagine putting bigger tires on it. Besides I like the look of duals.2cents for what it's worth.
That was my first thought that the sprag might have gotten bound up. If you turned the front wheel while it was off the ground could the sprag have locked up?
For dropaduce, the sprags are what engage to put power to the front axle when the rear wheel slips aproximately 1 1/2 % faster than...
Fire resistant hydraulic fluid is a relative thing. It may be "more" fire restant than regular hydraulic fluid, but it still burns. That's how we dispose of our synthetic aircraft hydraulic fluid, burn it in the boiler.
I bought a couple of 6TLs last summer at the Interstate dealer here in STL. I asked him how hard they are to get and about them only being available to the military. He said that was bulls**t, and he could get all I wanted. He says they sell them all the time to golf courses for their carts.
