    Gin Poles Finished

Does anyone have a snatch block for sale larger than 6" diameter? If not I guess I'll go with the 6" nonmilitary one I found although it seems a little small. The manual calls for 12", but I haven't found any larger than 6".

    Oil Additives For Turbos?

For what it's worth, I substitute a gallon of Lucas oil stabilizer to my oil changes. One of the mechanical engineers that's responsible for the steam turbines at work said it was similar to the additives in steam turbine oil that has a very long cling time. Supposed to protect the bearings...

Any St. Louis area folks here?

I'll have to check Wayne's the next time I'm out that way, it's to wet to do much else right now anyway. I'm planning on making the WW2 weekend myself, but won't be wearing green. I don't think they make it in my size unless maybe I went to a tent maker.

Is the HMMWV EPA or DOT certified

I'd hate to start some ... .... .. _ but maybe you could find some Illegals sneaking across the border and have them drive it over.:stir pot: Seriously, I assume it would have to be compliant before entering, but I wonder how you would get it certified over there first. Inquiring minds...

Any St. Louis area folks here?

I'm in St. Louis, but my trucks and stuff are in suburban Lesterville about 2 hours south. That's where I spend most of my time when the weathers good. I'd like to hear more about this used car dealer that sell deuces?

Cut open coolant filter from the deuce

I just picked one up from O'Reilly's today. The Wix filter base kit is Wix 24019, cost $46.99 and the Wix Filter 24072 with conditioner was $20.99. I also picked up a Wix 24911 remote fuel water filter(2 micron rated) to use as a polishing filter on my WMO transfer pump setup. I'm going to...

    Dead battery meets rubber hammer

:funny::rolleyes: Wish I had a nickle for everytime I heard that one, then found the engine locked tight. I can remember my dad dropping the tractor battery, in the dirt, when I was a kid.

    Stryker's VW

I'm not sure I'd want to go 105 in a Beetle, my wife had one before we got married 30 odd years ago and highway speed was hard to take. Or maybe just her driving?

    Gin Poles Finished

Still lookin' for information and ideas for a set of gin poles for the front of my M51A2. Haven't found any pipe yet for the gin poles of any size, but I've been looking for wire rope for the guy wires. I'm figuring on using two, one from each side of the dump bed using the upper latches for...

    Jefferson City, MO

Maybe the area, the folks over at the GSA site are really good too. I've made several pickups there and they have all not only been helpful but gone way out of their way to help. Has anyone ever picked up anything from Fort Lost in the Woods?
