I've heard so many horror storied about GL I just don't buy from them. I bought all my stuff through GSA.

    Air Horn fix....

I always thought the air horn on my M51A2 sounded kinda nasal, rather disappoinging, I guess I'll have to check it. Right now it is disconnected at the steering column because the horn blows at odd times and I've never been able to figure out why. Sometimes when you turn the wheel, push on the...

    Expiration Date?

If the tops haven't rusted through, you might want to transfer it to another stroage container. I've had rusted drums that had filled up with rainwater and displaced the oil until all that was left was water. Suprise, Surprise! Seriously take a sample off the top with a paper towel and see if...

    Expiration Date?

The slime that you're referring to is algae that grows on the water/oil interface. You can buy an algaecide that will kill it, you only have to add a small amount that will settle to the bottom and mix with the water layer and kill the growth. Let it sit for a while, then filter it and run it...

Howdy everyone, ever seen one of these?

If there were more of those around, you wouldn't have to bob a deuce. Great truck. Where did you find a cab for it?

RE: OPACITY I run around 50% wmo, sometimes more and my M51A2 makes virtually no smoke. Not that it matters I operate in a rural area.

Want to upload manuals for 8606 Forklift

I have the two manuals for the DTC 8606 all terrain forkllift built by Entwistle. Both are too large to upload, the Stock List is 116MB and the Training Manual is 128MB. Can you hellp me with a work around or how to split the files into smaller units?

    I only have two.

    Homegrown Tow Bar

I kinda like the kit idea. For those of us that are best kept away from the torch, I'm worse with the cutting torch than the welder and I have the burn scars to prove it.LOL Seriously, a kit with the cutouts minus the square tubing would be easily shipped. Some assembly required.8^) Stuffed...

RE: Bobtail I like it the way it is too!

    Homegrown Tow Bar

I was curious if you V-ed out the laminates before you welded them together or just surface welded them. I can weld but they never look good.

    New from the 'lou

Welcome to the list. What are you looking for in a CUCV, RTR or something to build? If you watch the GSA site, here in MO they have them in various states of repair. Most are fire dept/forestry/law enforcement turnins, anywhere from running to strippers. They are usually located in Lebanon...

    V.I.N.stamped in frame?

Does anyone have a picture showing the actual location? I've been trying to locate the VIN on mine, but I suspect too many coats of CARC have buried it. I'd hate to start stripping paint until I know pretty close where to look. I did find that Aircraft Stripper will remove CARC while trying...

Where to find parking brake parts.

My 5 ton Dump is the same way, it was like that when I got it. I think it was driven with the brake on myself since the pads are worn so bad. If it ever stops raining here I want to get into repairing it, either try to get it relined or buy new shoes.

    Trip to Joe Naglich, PA

You probably wouldn't need the rachet straps, I'm sure it would mold itself into the roof. Of course might cut down on the head room inside. Nobody likes a smartass!

5 ton front springs on bobbed deuce?

I don't know about on a deuce, but I was planning on using 5 ton front springs on the back of a bobbed 5 ton if I decide to bob it. I was considering using deuce springs on the front to soften the ride but I haven't decided yet. I have a spare set of deuce springs is why I was thinking of...
