The State changed NYSI ( STATE INSPECTION PROGRAM) computer systems last month and it has been a disaster to say the least , Vehicle Safety and Clean Air are in a FIT trying to get the system up and running . Hang in there it will get fixed but it will take some time , what can I say , LOW BID ...

The GM alternator is one of the easiest Alt's to rebuild . Rebuild kits are available and relatively inexpensive , just follow the info on this site and the TM's and you should be good to go . Don't forget about the isolated ground . good luck

Sounds like you need a alternator rebuild , probably a bad bearing . Correct me if I am wrong , but you need 2 alt's for 24 volt start circuit .

Looks like they were cleaning up the waterway , all the excavator's had long booms and sticks with grading buckets . It seems like they are working a Tidal Marsh , could have used some Bridge Mats .

Agreed , got something going on in there . I would also pull the oil filters and cut them open , then see what you have , might give you more of a clue . Bottom line is I think the pan is going to have to come off for a better look see . good luck .

Put some heat on the HINGE and PIN ( USE A SMALL WELDING TIP ) and the pin should come out , then I drilled out the hinge oversize and used a 5/16" bolt and lock nut . Little 383 green and good as new .

!3,000 miles , that is a keeper for sure . A nice coat of "383" green would look good on your ride .

Very nice job , That is differently the way to go . The body work on the original parts would have been a killer . Did you clean up the frame while you had the body off ? looks like a very complete 1028 . good luck . bob k
