    Saving money on CAT parts

Recently I replaced a pulley on my 3116. I priced it at a CAT, and it was around $230. Using this company I paid $65. Quality is good. Is aftermarket part. I have no financial interest in this company. https://aftermarket.express

Have you checked your bellhousing for oil?

It's a temp fix, that can buy you some time until you can pull the engine or whatever. If you have a blown trans seal, and use the Alison trans fluid, should be red.

New Arduino-based FMTV CTIS controller ROCKS!

Did you have a bad day or something? I said electronic, not electrical. I considers those connectors ELECTRICAL. I'm talking about chips and IC's, SCRs, diodes, transistors, etc. . THERE'S A DIFFERENCE. It is WELL-DOCUMENTED that Chinese sourcing of EELCTRONIC parts can be hit or miss because...

Have you checked your bellhousing for oil?

I check my bell housing oil every day and make sure it is between the lines ; ) Hate to run low. Might damage the CAT O strophic converter.

New Arduino-based FMTV CTIS controller ROCKS!

DigiKey is the best, particularly if you are sourcing electronic parts. If you buy off of, say E Auction sites, you are likely getting China rejects. No really!

New Arduino-based FMTV CTIS controller ROCKS!

Well, I think I figured out (at least in part) why my rear 4 tires don't dump air. This fitting shows that the 3/8" 3 way T was ripped off the inside of the passenger side frame rail. How that happened, I have no idea. New bulk head fitting ordered through Amazon.

New Arduino-based FMTV CTIS controller ROCKS!

Hmmm I wonder about handling characteristics, operating at different pressures. It would be an interesting experiment though.

A review of the polyurethane bushing replacements / upgrade for FMTV sway bars

I did not measure them unfortunately. All I did was flip the bushing around and drew a line between the two slits in the bushing, using a small metal ruler. Then I flipped the bushing back around. You can see the slits in the picture. This is mod would seem to be Caveman approved : )

A review of the polyurethane bushing replacements / upgrade for FMTV sway bars

Just wanted to do a quick review of the FMTV/MTV sway bar bushing upgrades available from Awesomeness/ Guido. The install was fairly easy on my M1088. One large bolt on the passenger side gave me grief, so I cut it off. There are essentially 3 pieces that need to line up, so it would be best to...

1995 Stewart & Stevenson 1078: New Acquisition Need Input

Honestly, avoid excessive hills, stresses, etc. Keep your speed 35 and under and use back roads if they are less demanding.
