I think that maybefixit got it. If the vehicle is 24v and draws half the amps it is more reliable than a 12v system with the same size wiring and connectors.
In the airplanes they do it for weight in a MV they do it for reliability.2cents
I think I bought one of yours. I have found it also usefull for removing and installing the hubs on the axles 3", which should probably work as well with
any of them.
I would say no to the ether. I've seen it done by tire guys before and its effetive getting the tire on, but what about the little bit left that may not have completley combusted? I was on my way to NC afew years ago to pick up a cab for my truck and was passing an 18Wheeler when the tire at...
I'm using Rapco. I believe it gives the reduction on thier website if not you can call them. If
I remember correctly it was thin up to 10% with xylene or mineral spirits. I used the xylene.
I did not use the hardner and the paint stays kind of soft for about a month or son till it cures all of...
You can search the threads, but if I understand it they both have have drawbacks. The advantage of the dot5 is it will not absorb moisture like the
dot3&4 that turns it into an acid that eats up all of the metal parts. I'm going with the dot5 beacause I don't know how often I will take it out...
I'm just wondering what type of brake fluid you purchased? If it is getting released from the
Military, it probably has dot 5, not compatible with the others. I went to a local wholsaler a block away from work to get the 5gal pails of engine oil and gear lube. Napa also has them,
I bought my...
In our current political and economic enviroment it would be hard to tell. I've seen then classifieds from 3K to 20K in different conditions. I've seen it said on here before, its worth what you are willing to pay for it...
When I got mine it only showed about 1500Miles since a rebuild and while that sounds good I don't thinkit was used in the last fifteen years. It seems to be OK, but your milage will be dependant on a lot of factors on an old truck. A truck like min that sat for a long time will probably have issues.
Ken,
Has he changed the fuel filters yet? If not I would suggest changing all three first. I would also have him check to make sure the in tank fuel pump is working. I also don't know how much time he has spent doing the basics like draining the moisture out of the tank and all three fuel...
I'm trying to remember what I did with the chrome one I bought at a local auto parts store. If I recall it right, I used a 3/8 drop in concrete anchor and ran the correct size tap into it, which fit snug on the inside of the dummy shifter grenade. The dummy had three set screws and I used a...
Sounds like a dead cell. I've seen plenty of posts on using all kinds batterys from Wallmart to Optima. I was able to find the original 6TL's at a place in town(Wholesale Battery) that have a Delstar lable. The consensus seemed to be that you change them in pairs that match whatever batterys you...
