    Wheel hop

FWIW- I replaced one of the Michelin 1400-20s on the front of the 5 ton with a Goodyear. Got an annoying shimmy about 40 mph. Replaced the other front with a Goodyear & the shimmy is gone. Eric CBVET

    100% used motor oil fuel.

As I planned, I'm still running a 50-50 mix of unleaded gas & wmo filtered to 1 micron. After about 400 miles, I've found: 1. Truck starts normally when cold. Normally about 1 revolution when starting. 2. Cranks 30 seconds before starting, once warmed up. That concerns me a little. 3. Truck runs...

Glad Hand Valve & Tow Lights

FYI The gladhand valves are very common natural/LP gas shutoff valves as used in homes since about forever. If they leak, you can usually take them apart & clean them. A little Break-Free or other Teflon lube works well on them. To stop a slight leak, you may only have to tighten the stem nut a...

RE: Re: LUGNUTS I couldn't be more satisfied with the 3/4" "Earthquake" impact from Harbor Freight. Eric CBVET

    Viewing classifieds

When viewing classifieds, I see the title, & a blank area where there may be printing, but it's so faint I can't read it. If I open the ad, I get the info, but that's a slow way to go. Any way to correct? Thanks for all you do, Eric CBVET

    Airpack modification for towing

Thanks Barrman! I figured it had to be something like that, but your explanation made it very clear! Eric CBVET

    Airpack modification for towing

I assume what you're saying, is that this setup makes the brakes in the tow-ee vehicle work when the brakes in the tow-er are applied? (Boy, spellcheck doesn't like those words) Correct? A great idea. But how does that work? How can brakes be applied without pushing fluid out of the master...

    Electrical Help Please.

I agree with Bjorn. When I get nothing using a "convenient" ground, I get out my 20 foot jumper wire & go right to the battery. In my 45 years of working on vehicles, I've found a poor ground to be the problem well over half the time. Eric CBVET

    Tighter Turning

Sorry, but I just don't get it. Can you make changes that will really make a significant reduction in the turning radius? Eric CBVET

    Winch cost

The one part that I had a really hard time finding, was the PTO lever bracket that bolts to the master cylinder. Finally got one, but had to pay more than I wanted to. Eric CBVET

    source for filters

Just using gravity to filter WMO thru a 100 micron filter, took about an hour per gallon after the first 3 gallons. Then after about 20 gallons, the filter was really plugged up. Made an adapter & used a hand pump after that. Much faster. Eric CBVET

    Winch cost

I traded a Chevy Cavalier. I still feel a little guilty............ Eric CBVET

    Camp Shelby

Went to VietNam Warfare school there in 1967. The green beanies were pretty nice. Does that count? Eric CBVET

Site Timed out after trying to post pictures

At my office I use Comcast internet. SS frequently "times out" while I'm using it. I can go through a proxy server, such as hidemyass.com & get into SS, but can't open the forum or any posts. Anyone know a solution? Works fine on my satellite internet at home. Eric CBVET

    Question: Painting a Deuce

I sandblasted/sanded a few bad spots. Wiped it all down with acetone, & sprayed 4 gallons of Aervoe Marine Corps green. Used a Harbor Freight $50 HVLP gun. Not perfect, but pretty darn good. Have gotten a lot of compliments. Eric CBVET

Bjorn I appreciate the info! I still have two personnel & one coolant heater to hook up. Eric CBVET

I get 5-6 MPG in a non-turbo deuce. That's running 55 mph with no load. Eric CBVET

    50/50 Mix for Multi

Sorry, no. Hot weather has me working a lot fixing Slurpee machines & ice makers. Plus, there's been some sort of local event wanting our trucks, every weekend that I'm not working. Eric CBVET

    20 Ton Crane

Marti, I didn't have time to look it over real closely, & I wouldn't know a Detroit engine if I saw one. It's at the same place where you picked up the dump truck. If you tell me what to look for, I'll stop by again. Gimpy, Didn't see any trailer. Eric CBVET
